Named as an emergency multiple times in his debut season, Jez McLennan was unable to breakthrough for an AFL debut. Named All-Australian following dominant performances for South Australia at the 2018 Championships, he averaged 15 disposals and four marks in the NEAFL. McLennan will seek out his debut for the upcoming season. The evidence suggests he struggled to compete against the hardened bodies, perhaps signalling limited fantasy value for the upcoming campaign and possibly a case of second-year syndrome.
No volume in Jez

Jez is just a gem
Starting at half back, Jez McLennan won a lot of plaudits in his last junior year as vice-captain of the winning SA outfit at the Championships with plaudits for the quality of his disposal and the courage of his intercept marking. His disposal rates were not as impressive, failing to breach 15 at either junior or SANFL levels. The Suns have tried a few players at back pocket over the past few years, and if they are only expecting 15 or so touches out of that position then McLennan has the greatest upside of any of their options. His skills of accumulation are lacking at this stage of what looms as a long career, which means he should not be drafted.
