A shoulder injury interrupted Jarrod Garlett's first preseason at Carlton after moving from the Gold Coast. He was selected for eight of the first nine games with not much return after the first month, and didn't impress at VFL level either. Garlett's role is too deep and his powers of accumulation far too weak for him to be considered for draft leagues. He should stay on your free agent pool as a warm body to pick up for a one-week start, though hopefully you will never be that desperate.

Lifeline for Garlett
Unexpectedly, Carlton picked up former Sun Jarrod Garlett from the AFL scrap heap with a late pick. In his rare good games for Gold Coast, he racked up plenty of tackles as a pressure forward. He did not breach 20 disposals in 18 games at Carrara. Not the worst move by Carlton, as they have been screaming out for good small forwards ever since they said goodbye to Eddie Betts]. Jarrod is no Jeff, or at least not yet. His game is not conducive to fantasy scoring.
