Against massive odds, Jackson Nelson won his place in the seniors back after almost a full season being overlooked, and lasted all the way from round 14 through September. Whatever contributions he made rarely showed up in numbers on the basic stat sheet. Nelson is one of a host of mediocre deep medium defenders vying for one spot in the otherwise star-studded Eagle back line. None of the contenders have fantasy relevance in draft leagues, save perhaps for Francis Watson.

Not even half Nelson
Always on the fringes at West Coast across his fourth listed year, Jackson Nelson was not picked after round 14 and missed the flag. Nelson get nowhere near enough of the footy to interest fantasy coaches, with his role more focused on defence. Avoid.
Winter waterloo for Nelson
It is becoming a habit for Jackson Nelson to play about half a season in the senior Eagle side then get dropped before finals, and it happened for a third time in 2017. Nelson's spot was taken by Liam Duggan who did not impress, so he'll try to break the pattern again in 2018. His role is too deep and defensive for fantasy purposes.
