The Eagles like to run flankers off their bench, and Jack Petruccelle fit into that structure for 19 games last season running forward from midfield for a goal from ten touches per game, contributing a few pressure acts along the way in the modern style. He beat the forward baseline three times in his first five, then barely at all for the rest of the season. Petruccelle's job security is boosted in the short term by the suspension of Willie Rioli, though the team likes to have multiple of his types in the side as he played most games alongside Jamie Cripps. His signature play starts from the wing getting involved in slingshot plays started from behind centre, which is not conducive to fantasy relevance.

Petruccelle out of gas
Gives three chances in the senior side in his first listed year, Jack Petruccelle kicked two goals from a total of 16 possessions in what was for him a new role as a forward, having spent his last junior year at half back and inside midfield. He managed a goal per game from 12 touches in the WAFL. Petruccelle seems to have befallen the fate that almost claimed the career of teammate Jack Redden, a square peg being squeezed into an uncomfortably round hole. Given the competition on the list for a vanishingly small amount of midfield spots at West Coast, it seems impossible to foresee him delivering startable scores this year.
Petrol cells fuel Jack
Excelling at times at half back or inside midfield, Jack Petruccelle registered two fantasy tons but also five of his last six under 60, finishing his TAC Cup year with averages of 16 disposals and 70 fantasy points. He tested as the quickest player at the Combine. There will hopefully come a time when we see what Petruccelle can do in the big league with a big body at full tilt. That time is not going to be in his first year, and he will start in the WAFL while the club figures out where to put him and how many protein shakes he can do per day.
