Darragh Joyce is most definitely not the first-choice fullback for the Brisbane Lions this season, and has only returned to the seniors due to an injury to Jack Payne. With Brisbane gearing up to secure the double chance this week and with a view ahead to finals, all they need out of Joyce is to play his back-shoulder role to at least halve contests with the opposition's key target leading from the square, and not to make many mistakes with ball in hand on the rebound. As such, Lions fans will have their hearts in their mouths whenever he forgets his limitations.

Joyce in forward's wake
Recruited from County Kilkenny, Darragh Joyce continued to make inroads in his AFL career with three senior outings in year three. Standing tall half forwards, Joyce struggled to compete against the best, conceding six to Jeremy Cameron in round 7. The Irishman's priority will continue to be development, following a two-year contract renewal signed in July. Expect no fantasy relevance for a player both learning the game and featuring in the least statistically desirable position of all.
Darragh, me hearties
Given two senior games on his second year on the Saints rookie list, Darragh Joyce played a key defensive position on the third tall forward without touching the ball much at all. Joyce may well play a few more this season due to the St Kilda injury list already looking like the rap sheet for a typical NRL player. He is the opposite of a fantasy player.
It's a ball, Joyce
Playing key defender in the VFL all season, Darragh Joyce put up Prestigiacomo-like numbers on the stat sheet including four scores under 20. Joyce may turn out to be something, but that thing is not going to be of any use to fantasy coaches if that is any indication.
