A persistent back injury limited Corey Ellis' first season at the Suns. The half back struggled for continuity, flitting between NEAFL and AFL sides. The ex-Tiger produced a career-high 18 touches per outing with similar figures across eight appearances in the twos. Ellis has been ever present from day one of preseason as he continues to seek a starting role at AFL level. Rarely a dominant ball winner throughout his time at secondary level, there is no evidence suggesting Ellis is of fantasy relevance.

Ellis finds new island
After four uninspiring years at Richmond mostly spent in the VFL, Corey Ellis joins Gold Coast where he has more opportunity to showcase his cod-ordinariness at senior level. Even when avoiding injuries, Ellis has never been able to reproduce some quite nice numbers at the lower level when picked to play seniors. He will struggle in a much weaker team.
Roses wither on Ellis
For the third year running, Corey Ellis played some uninspiring seniors footy then finished his season in the VFL, dropping out two weeks before finals. Ellis has never threatened to become a fantasy player, and even after a couple of preseasons he still has a way to go in his physical development.
