2013 was the early peak of Cam O'Shea's career, playing all 24 games for Port Adelaide mostly as a third tall defender. Repeated bouts in the SANFL led to him being delisted at the end of 2016, then given a second chance by Carlton this off season after winning their reserves best & fairest. His VFL averages of 21 disposals and 85 fantasy points were much better than anything so far achieved at AFL level. Ken Hinkley evidently decided he didn't want the ball in O'Shea's hands, with good reason as he can rack up a clanger. Could O'Shea be another Liam Jones story of rags to riches? The Blues have plenty of better users of the footy off half back, not to mention a raft of good young talls playing his particular role, so he's a back up only and should be well satisfied to be pulling an AFL salary again.
