A physical behemoth in the Crows engine room, Cam Ellis-Yolmen swapped Adelaide Oval for the Gabba during the October trade period. Winning over half his disposals in the contest, the former fourth round selection averaged career highs in disposals, tackles and clearances. He was at his best with a 30-touch, 10-tackle performance against the Eagles in round 10. Ellis-Yolmen's figures have steadily increased with opportunity and one must assume certain promises were made during the trade negotiations. Entering his athletic prime and with a healthy body intact, further improvement may be possible for the upcoming campaign. Selection as a middle or latter round selection is warranted.
Plenty of work for CEY

CEY is an interloper
It was obvious at the start of last season that Cam Ellis-Yolmen would only get an extended seniors run through injuries to other players and, sure enough, Brad Crouch's absence gave him the chance. He took it with glee to average 91 across the first nine games, but then slowed down with a quad injury and barely appeared after the byes with Rory Sloane back in the side ahead of him. When they have a full list to choose from, the Crows have enough blokes who handball out of packs because they haven't got the turn of speed to burst away from them. Ellis-Yolmen is a loper between contests, poor on the spread and too reliant on handballs and tackles for fantasy purposes. It would be cruel to imagine, but CEY is only draftable if the Crows again have to deal with a raft of engine room absentees.
CEY demoted to yeoman
A knee injury in the first game of the 2017 JLT put a big roadblock between Cam Ellis-Yolmen and the senior Adelaide team at just the wrong time. He was delisted then re-rookied in the off season, after a very solid 2016 in the SANFL. The major problem for Ellis-Yolmen is that Hugh Greenwood has gone past him for an inside midfield spot, before you even get to the arrival of Bryce Gibbs. Unless there are big injuries in the Crow midfield in preseason, he is undraftable.
