The first year in the system for Ben Jarvis saw him tally 15 VFL games without lighting the world on fire. When drafted, the Port Lincoln product showed strength above his head as an aggressive key forward. His VFL coaches saw it differently, moving the youngster to a back pocket. Without a senior appearance, Jarvis looms as a depth player in 2020, forced down the pecking order with the injection of Josh Jenkins. Don't give Jarvis a second thought.
Jarvis misses the point

Jarvis cock-a-hoop
The Cats snapped up Port Lincoln product Ben Jarvis with pick 48 in the most recent national draft. With fellow draftee Jacob Kennerley, Jarvis played for the Norwood Under-18s in 2018, kicking nine goals from 11 matches. His goal stats weren’t as we’d expect for a key forward however, due to pinch-hitting in Norwood’s undermanned ruck division. Jarvis is touted to be great overhead and moves well for a kid of his size. However, he’ll have to bide his time in the reserves and develop his craft before he is injected into the Geelong side. One to watch for the future, but not for the present. Pass.
