As people have stated, Gibbs is the final piece in the Crows premiership puzzle. These A-Grade mids don't pop up on the trade table often, so when one specifically states he wants to go to Adelaide (of all places) you've gotta come to the table.
I am sick of hearing this "pieces" to this so called premiership puzzle. Theres no such thing, Ryder was meant to be ports premiership piece. How have they gone so far? Premierships are incredibly hard to win and you need a lot of variables to go your way. But Adelaide are at the table and they've put pick 13 up, Carlton are coming back asking for Cameron. So how about Carlton come to the table, look at pick 13 and stop asking us to pair it with our future stars. For flowering sake, is SOS the new Adrian Dodoro?
LOL you are getting way too fired up about this :P

You do realise the stuff reported in the media/social media is not everything that is discussed behind closed doors between the clubs and a lot of what's reported is not totally accurate anyway? Do you think Carlton are just going to roll over and say "oh, our second best player wants to leave, here Adelaide have him for nothing" Of course they're going to explore what the Crows may be willing to give up. It's called negotiating :P
haha exactly ;) Crows fans be like we will have your second best player but your not even getting one of our forward pockets, take a sanfl player, but we're being unreasonable :D

Adelaide aren't giving up Ellis Yolmen or Lyons for you know who ;)

And people like Cameron, McGovern and the crouch brothers aren't going anywhere!

dont have any idea on how this is going to get done ::)

Tyrone Vickery and Tom Mitchell are final pieces of Hawthorn's next threepeat puzzle.

There are no doubts in my mind that Sam Mitchell will play longer than 1 more season if he wants to.

He is one of the only players in the comp that as a midfielder his career is not dictated by leg speed because he reads the play so well.

Gives Priddis a chop out getting the hard ball. He is a good fit at West Coast.

Matt Boyd hasn't been offered a contract yet, because the Dogs are trying to replace him with Brett Deledio.

Lids to the Dogs is happening. Will send the picks we get for Stevens, Rat and Honey to Richmond. Stevens a chance to go there himself.

Yeah if we can get him for the third rounder I couldn't be happier. Would give guys like Sheed and Duggan some extra time to fill out and establish themselves, plus he's not a bad bloke to learn from (Duggan!)

If we can get Smitch and Waterman with our second and third rounder I'll be flowering stoked!

+1

It's a bs metaphor by the media to sell stories

It also just makes supporters frustrated

The only case in which it's actually been accurate was Brian Lake to Hawthorn (and I'm pretty sure that the media were sceptical of the trade at the time, before calling it the completion of the 'premiership puzzle' in retrospect).

You have to take the opportunity when it arises and even having the best list is no guarantee (the Bulldogs were considered one of the weaker lists over the last two season, however, players stood up when it counted and the gameplan allowed them to grind out wins against the opposition for 4 straight weeks - no 'final piece' required)

That being said, Gibbs is a quality player and Pick 13 + a player is more than fair if Adelaide want to bargain in good faith

it's because you're taking the phrase to literally

it means Gibbs is the best option to give Crows the highest chance to win a flag

Considered to be a weaker list by who?! Over the past 6 years no team (GWS aside) hasn't come close to getting as much quality through the draft as us. We've got the 2nd best list in the league. Can't believe everyone was hyping up Richmond this time last year but had us falling from the 8.
