May need a new thread..but who and why is the next Aussie captain?

Bill Manspeaker

has to be Smith IMO. good age and has a good head on his shoulders

should be made vice and follow a similar path to Clarke under Ponting (although that went on and on)

well yeah there's that too :P

strange decision not to be named in our ODI squad, though I'm convinced we just wanted to rest him for the test series and World Cup

GoLions

They might go with Smiddy for the test team, and Finchy for ODIs? Assuming Smiddy doesn't cement a spot in the one-day team that is

Yeah...I remember back in the good old days when playing and fitness went hand in hand, and Capt's played because they were the Capt.

Would have thought Bailey has the ODI job locked for now. Has done a reasonable job in recent series that Clarke has missed.

Yeah I agree Bailey for the very near future, but once Pup is gone for good I would've thought Finch may take over, as Bailey is kinda old now so wouldn't be captain for long

PowerBug

Smith, clearly, for tests. Bailey has ODIs.
