Good stuff Noz! Was a ripping win from you guys today, Hartlett, Ebert and Cornes were fantastic I thought, and I agree with your thoughts on Matty White, played his role very very well.

Does his performance as sub make it likely he will see the green vest a bit more throughout the season? Seemed like he moved from Richmond because he was fast becoming our super-sub, so will be interesting to see if Hinkley will use him in a similar manner. He's so good at it!

Thanks mate for the feedback

Well to be honest if something isn't broke don't fix it. White could remain the sub next week against the Roos and his run at Etihad would be very useful. Polec had a game high 10 running bounces including 6 of them in the first quarter so as long as Polec continues doing his job then White will be getting the green vest.

Wouldn't think we would make many changes to the side Impey might get dropped but with some Kangas small forwards he might be needed next week. So i would suggest Matt White to remain the sub next week.

One thing is for sure with the additions of Polec and White. Kane Mitchell's days at Port could slowly be numbered only way i see him coming back in the side if he is given the role as a tagger and that won't happen until Cornes retires.

Even at Richmond he makes the claim of being the best sub in the game.

No problems mate, thanks for the effort! Great to hear your thoughts on it all!

Polec has been a fantastic pickup for you guys, can't believe Brisbane wouldn't give him a run! :o

Mr.Craig

Had to laugh at people predicting pre season that Port would fall off and not make the 8. Didn't seem to be based on any kind of reality.

TomK

Credit where credit is due, well done Port. Looked very, very good today compared to us. We were horrible all day.

Good start to the year from Port but nothing surprising so far

It was quite interesting that a lot of people were counting us off, We are still a very young side with a lot of upside. The few things we lacked last year were outside run and in comes Matt White and Jarred Polec and a good small defender and Impey proved that in the first quarter before getting demolished. Hopefully he can learn from that experience.

Nothing's changed. I was laughing then and I'm still laughing.

good write up Noz

must admit I predicted a slide this year - mainly because at least two teams drop out of the 8 from the previous year and figured Port had a harder draw so I had you just outside the 8. I had Port and the Pies out for North and WCE. Time will tell I guess.

Interested in comments about Impey - Betts is arguably the most dangerous small forward in the game and has run rings around the most experienced defenders. Thought this would have been a massive learning curve for the kid. Hope he can hold his spot.

Thought I'd post this update in here. Interesting how quickly Monfries is recovering
