With the Newcastle Falcons and Swindon Swaggers both folding all players from both teams were available as free agents in a special draft for the British competition.
Nottingham Hoods received pick 12 based on our final ladder position with this pick we managed to draft a fine young midfielder who will fit in nicely with our other young guns
Nottingham Hoods would like to welcome our newest recruit

Hoods would like to welcome our newly traded in players and to farewell and thank those that have moved onto another club.

Trade 1
Nottingham Hoods give Chris Masten + Dylan Roberton
Liverpool Rams give Michael Walters + Jeremy McGovern

It was a very tough decision to farewell Chris Masten he was one of our core midfielders this year and will be greatly missed.
And we also bid farewell to Dylan Roberton he was in and out of the side all year but it was tough for him to crack into the backline with stars like Walker and Taylor. We wish both players the best at their new club Liverpool Rams under coach Nigel.

We now welcome 2 much needed forwards in Michael Walters and Jeremy McGovern.
Hit by injuries and having no depth we really needed to get some help down forward with Gray and Day shouldering the workload most of the year almost on their own with White,Podsiadly,Hartman and Towers pitching in when they were available

LF

Trade 2
Nottingham Hood give Luke Russell + Tom Langdon + Nat Pick 12
Blackpool Bunnies give Ben Griffiths + Scott Lycett

We now bid farewell to 2 of our younger players Tom Langdon and Luke Russell
Tom was a revelation this year he came into the team and really stood up most of the year,he did tired a bit and was unable to crack the team for the last few games of the year.
Luke was very unlucky this year was only able to crack into the side a couple of times we hope he is able to get some more game time at his new club.
Good luck to Tom and Luke as they join the Blackpool Bunnies under coach SydneyRox

We now welcome young ruckman Scott Lycett and young forward Ben Griffiths
With our first ruckman Aaron getting older and Dawson and Archie still developing it was decided we need to acquire another ruckman to back Aaron and to possibly take over from him once he decided to hang the boots up.Scott was the obvious choice due to his age and he has been developing rather nicely as well we hope that he stays at the Hoods as our long term ruckman with Dawson and Archie to back him up in the future.
Ben Griffiths was bought in to help down in the forward line as well after the retirement of Scott Gumbleton and the delistings of several players.

LF

Trade 3
Nottingham Hoods give Nat pick 47
Grope Lane Giants give Will Schofield

We now welcome Will Schofield to the Hoods.
The Giants were delisting him so the Hoods threw him a life line and gave him a chance to prove coach Nails was making a mistake by doing this.

Trade 4
Nottingham Hoods give Nat 31 + Rook 28 + Taylor Garner
Staines Steins give Brodie Martin + Nathan Gordan

We bid farewell to promising young forward Taylor Garner.Unfortunately he spent most of the year struggling to overcome injury so we haven`t yet got to see him in action. After requesting to be traded to the Steins we relented and spent 2 weeks trying to work a deal to get him there. We wish him all the best under coach Memph and hope he can get the best out of him.
Welcome to our 2 new recruits in Brodie Martin and Nathan Gordon
Martin had a fine end to the season and really caught our eye needing a starting defender we negotiated with the Steins to acquire his services for next season and we think he`ll fit nicely into our defence. And he also liked the fact the previous coach of the Steins is now at the Hoods so he was happy to make the move.
Gordon wanted out of the Steins due to conflicts with the Steins coaching staff and requested a trade to the Hoods following his previous coach tabs over who was the one who gave him a second chance at the Steins. We worked hard to get him to the Hoods and he should fit nicely into our forward line and pitch into the midfield as well.
