Incheon Stadium:
The Incheon Stadium has recently become the official home ground of the Oxford Owls. The stadium was built for the 17th Asia Games in 2014 allowing mass exposure. With a capacity of 70,000 people, it is had showcased Asia's biggest sporting events. The eastern side of the venue has modular temporary seating structure allowing seating to disappear when vacant. The dynamics of the stadium has earned it, the status of one of the greatest stadiums in the world.

Chasing Youth

The Oxford Owls coaching board have been extremely busy this trading period as they look to build on their current super youth. As former club superstars left, in came those that would dominate the next era of football. Unfortunately the Owls had to bid farewell to the 29 year old giant, Mike Pyke. We would like to thank Mike for his efforts in 2012 and we wish him the best of luck for his future. With the departure of Pyke came youth machine, Tom Mitchell. Vinny and the coaching board are stoked to have Tom Mitchell aboard and are looking forward to the damage he can cause in 2014 and years to come. However in order to claim Mitchell, the Owls had to let veterans, Bob Murphy and James Kelly move on. Again, we thank the boys for their efforts. During these two trades the club was able to acquire National Draft Picks, #9 and #30. Coach Vinny spoke about the trading after putting the deal on paper earlier in the day.

QuoteYes indeed, the club is stoked to welcome Tom Mitchell who in his very first year showed his immense talent. He will be one hell of a player for the Owls. Along with Mitchell, came the draft picks which we believe we can pick up some very handy players that will prove to be vital in years to come.

TWO YOUNG GUNS

The Owls have proved to be very active this period as they have just confirmed two more huge signings. The board would like to welcome young guns Sam Mayes and Michael Talia. Both in their first year in AFL have shown immense talent and Vinny, Noz and Holz are very excited about their potential. Talia joins our older backline where he will be guided by the likes of Dustin Fletcher and Bret Goodes where we believe he can further develop his skills. Sam Mayes in his very first year managed to cement his spot in the AFL making critics believe that he will be a future champion of the game. He is also stoked to join one of his best mates who is currently at the club, Ollie Wines. Unfortunately at the expense of the trade came Nick Dal Santo, Greg Broughton and Gary Rohan. The Owls would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them the best of luck.

BIGGEST TRADE IN CLUB HISTORY

After the Owls were involved in a simpler trade with the Badgers regarding picks, the board really put the foot down in order to claim some young superstars. Today Vinny and the coaching board finalized what is the biggest trade in Oxford history. Four superstars, all under the age of 22 were welcomed to the club. Mitch Duncan, Dylan Shiel, Troy Chaplin and Aaron Black are wished the best of luck by the board as they arrived at the Owls facility earlier in the day. The club is stoked with its new signing and believe all players will make mass contribution from day one. Although the Owls welcomed some exciting prospects, they did have to bid farewell to numerous players. Bret Goodes and Lewis Johnston were forced to depart the Owls and the board wish them good luck for their future endeavors. Travis Cloke also left the club as part of the trade after a fiery relationship between coach Vinny. Their hatred towards each other was widely known throughout the league and community and Cloke's departure was imminent. Coach Vinny spoke about his favourite aspects of the trade with the Liverpool Lobsters.

QuoteFlower yeah! Cloke is gone.

The board is looking forward to the damage that the Owls can cause in the coming seasons as the youth begins to rapidly develop. Slowly the Owls trading for 2013 preparing for 2014 has nearly come to a close however the club still has the ability to make one more player movement and on-trade any of its players or picks in hope of claiming another defender.[/center]

TRADING, TRADING, TRADING.

As the deadline of the trading period is just a few short hours away, Oxford Owls have completed all their trades for the off-season and are excited to get the 2014 season rolling. Recently the board has made some decisions that have left the BXV community shocked, having traded their National Draft Pick 11 and youn gun Tom Mitchell. However the board are stoked with their new inclusions in Sam Docherty and Andrew Swallow. Sam Docherty was originally a National Draft Pick 12 and has showed immense talent in his short AFL career and Vinny and the board felt he was worth such great value. Aswell as Docherty triggering much excitement at the Owls headquarters, new signing Andrew Swallow has brought much talent to the club. Unfortunately he went down with an ACL in the last season however we have full faith that he will be back on the field before Round 10. The club knows that Swallow is an absolute warrior and provides a captain option along side Jack Steven. The Owls were also able to upgrade their Pick 7 in the draft to a Pick 5 further hoping that we will be able to claim who we want in the upcoming draft that is just 5 days away. That brings an end to the trading period for the Owls having used all 10 movements, we are looking forward to the coming year.

Coach Vinny ended the press conference with the following words signalling a warning to all coaches that are going to stand in his way.

QuoteBring on 2014 doges.
