Roughy will be one worth getting then...as a fwd...probably won't be DPP...maybe Lewis will be a ruck. ;)
Forwards are the hardest to pick this far out in many ways...really have to wait for DPP. Stevie J and Rocky might be mids only. Daisy should be a good price but who knows how his pre season will work out... Higgins might be too cheap to overlook. The old warriors...Pav and Roo... will be another year older.
????????????????????
Stevie should lose it but Rocky should keep it for one last year imo, Dusty also a good chance to keep it according to some Tiges fans, many will jump on Wingard, Tex will be hard to pass up
Yeah all those names are food for thought. Tex especially.

I thought Tex wasn't going to be back till mid season? I read something about a week ago saying  he was still a while away and would miss the start of the season at least.
that does sound familiar actually,  :-\

Yeah it does! i had him in my 2014 team until i heard that. On the bright side, i suppose it allows me to play Thomas as there was no way i was going to go both Tex and Thomas, it could also allow for a handy maxed out rookie downgrade and use him as cheap bench cover that can well and truly replace a doughnut in your fwd line.

Tex back early rounds, sheesh

Jroo

Dangerfield thinks he'll be back around round 8 or 9.

Viv at Melb and Thorpe at the dogs (if he gets there) could be a couple of solid starting forward bench options! Michie can really play, if he stays injury free he should get his chances at Melb, more of a midfield type (averaged 26+ disposals and won his clubs BnF) but lets hope he keeps his Fwd dp. Melb EASILY won out of that trade, with pick 54 being a steal! Thorpe averaged an insane 24 touches, 11 marks and 4 goals this season! If he has improved his attitude from when he was at the hawks, he could be the missing link at the doggies and become a very viable fwd bench option for next year!

Thoughts?

Ringo

With Shaw going to GWS he may be a lock in defence.

My view is opposite of yours Ringo. Big no from me

Jroo

Shaw is an upgrade target for me. I'd like to see how he performs before selecting him. He has burnt me in the past  >:(

Vinny

Yeah Shaw is too much of a risk, upgrade target with all the other options in defence. :)

Xavier Ellis at a standard rookie price is interesting, yeah he is the most injury prone player in the comp, if he is named Rnd 1 then all we need is 2months or so out of him and he has done his job. Has played 22 and 21 games in a season before. Handy rookie because he has a fairly high ceiling which you wouldn't really get with a rookie, but you will receive the same inconsistency.

Handy 2014 prospect

Never thought of that Hawkers, that could be interesting, obviously have to watch his preseason and make sure he plays and how he settles in at West Coast, don't know how much mid time he'll get but you'd have to wait and see.

Dom Tyson to Melbourne anyone? Former pick #3 in 2011, fair share of injuries but a new club and fresh start, I think he could go a long way. Might be a bit more than rookie priced, I'm not sure but he's obviously up there.

Anyone fancy Dayle Garlett also? Could be a smokey, has a very high ceiling

I honestly don't see where in the amended rule it says you can't rest players. The rule says this...

Rule 29, 'To Perform on One's Merits', now reads: "(It) means at all times to perform honestly and to the best of one's ability in the pursuit only of legitimate competitive objectives.

"For the avoidance of doubt "legitimate competitive objective" includes the development of the team or players or management of player fatigue or injuries but does not include improving a club's draft position, improving a club's position with respect to a potential player exchange or manipulating a club's position on the ladder for the purpose of improving its draw within the finals series."

So it says you can rest players for management of player fatigue or injuries, but not to improve position in the draft or manipulating the draw in the finals series. Freo rested players to manage fatigue and avoid injuries going in to the finals. They couldn't be moved from their position on the ladder either so they weren't affecting the finals series at all.

So can someone explain how this is going to stop them? Honestly don't see it...
