put the goddamn whistle away and let the men play
then we all be happy
i swear some umps have ego's and treat their whistle as a extension
"if you know what i mean"...lol

You wouldn't be referring to that idiot that umpired Mondays game now would you Daz
actually no i dont get the reference i missed that game...lol

Kennedy, Cox, Priddis in DT. Hate that everyone brought in Priddis this week because his points mean less now. Everyone has the other two as well. I guess I'm just an average punter in this game.
Also, Cox is looking old...

Not sure that many have him in DT still, shouldn't be as popular as SC anyway. If it makes you feel better he still only has an 8% ownership and only 1/4 of my opponents have him (I didn't get him either)

Well done if you managed to get him in this week he should go well through the bye rounds at least
I got him last week for his 80. Only cost me $7,300 by not waiting a week and earned me 26 points. Totally worth it ;)

I dont wanna dwell on this buuuut.

Looks high to me.

ELE - that photo shows a guy throwing his legs out from under himself to go low enough to EARN a high free kick, if you are proud of that you are no better than he is, you may think it is clever from him, or that he isn't doing it at all, i think it is playing for a free kick, and a numberof other things i won't say in this forum.

the clown looks like he is sitting in a chair not playing football, WTF?

ANYWAY moving on...

WCE should have been 8 goals up and the game beyond North by the end of the 3rd quarter, I don't claim they don't deserve to win.

it's harsh for north... again.

i just don't like the part of our game that is free kicks (questionable and unnecessary ones) , and the "impression i get" from certain players playing for them.

think it should be taken out of the game altogether.

west coast brings the worst out in me in regards to my disgust for it.

but as i said they are not the only ones, and even the players ( especially captains ) selwood pendles watson they all do it

throwing their arms out turning to the umps for a free kick, IT JUST LOOKS SOFT and PATHETIC.

so sorry to the eagles fans for hating on the eagles but they may have a slight lead over the other clubs in regards to the ducking issue.

still it is a PROBLEM ( in my opinion)  but not one that is EXCLUSIVE to the eagles. not at all.

all said and done, 4 points went the Eagles way, and the rest is irrelevant. so good for the eagles.

@ ELE - I agree on NICNAT

strongly disagree on the free kick issue has run it's race, you obviously don't follow footy news, the free kick issue rages on the bump this week, push outs of marking contests the week before.

it is a shambles across the board. the AFL rules committee has completely lost the plot....

LaHug

It was high. I don't think many (if any) are saying it wasn't. But...
1. It was high for a split moment before the arm slid down
2. The umpire said the "second" contact was high and not that particular first one
3. There were a few plays earlier where players from either team would have that same initial high contact but the tackle was called fair

Remember, I still believe that West Coast deserved to win and it was up to them to make up for their horrible kicking in front of goal. Nic Nat came through and good on him! But that particular call was sketchy at best.

roo boys!

North have had the rub of the green this year with the umps. Hilarious that they would bring it up.

Has anyone ever thought that players actually earn freekicks? Or would you prefer it if umps ignored blatant frees and bought up ones that aren't there so that everyone has an even amount of frees.

Please, the free kicks debate has run its race. Can we not all just agree that...

NIC NAT flowerING RULES
I think that's the talking point ele, how's exactly do they EARN these kicks? And why do they seem to EARN a lot of them while ducking their head down? Certain players, your selwoods, hams etc seem to earn a lot more of these than others, is there just a coincidence that players are always drawn to tackle these players high intentionally? I don't think so.

I'm sure if I was to take a photo of every single tackle there would be a large number either way where the arm is over the neck at some stage or another. That's the point I am trying to make, I'm not saying I can't see how that could be a free, but if we could have a little bit of consistency each way with the umpiring then please pay them when you see them umpire! Either let them all go or pay them all with contentious ones like this. Also the umpire said at the time it wasn't the Adams tackle that got him high, it was the tackle by the second player

elephants

Haha ok Colli. Your opinion, I'm not here to change your mind mate ;) Same goes rb. I respect you guys as FF champions and am not gonna push my point :)

TeeJay

Everyone knows westcoast players drop the knees for free kicks. They also lift their arm up when they are tackled so that the tackle slides up over the shoulder. Its smart. Its also very easy to avoid... Tackle the hips!

Exactly. I seem to be agreeing with a lot of what you're saying. Good man haha ;)

Colliwobblers

every commentator in the universe is saying it wasn't high i guess we will see what the geeeeeesh says..

and I am no FF champion ELE, no more than you are :)

mine is just one oppinion, and that is it one in a million.

sorry to fire up about it , trust me i put up with people hating my club every day, it isn't nice.

sorry to offend your club. it's not just your club to be fair and certainly not all of them either. it just brings the agro out in me.

to be fair it is my personal issue with Football in general, just seems eagles games bring it out in me :)

same as the rest of you, none of you really hate black and white every day of your lives, then the pies play and all of a sudden you hate those two colours striped together.

anyway this should all be in a rules of the game forum not this match forum so, sorry for the rants.

one more comment  :o  @ teejay, you try and tackle shuey on the hips you better be lying down to do it  ;D

I like Collingwood whenever Benny Sinclair gets a game because he's a school mate of mine ;)

He was not on the ground he was standing and put his head down/back straight into him. It should not have been a free kick.

Hhe didnt get the free for that tackle, it was for the next one on the ground!

I didn't think Harvey was that good, They'll give Nic Nat 3 IMO, although I don't think anyone really stood out. Highest number of disposals was 24...

LaHug

KB, I personally saw it as Nic Nat, Harvey, Priddis. That's just me though.
