1.1 The British 15's is the Virtual Sports version of the popular World 15s competitions developed by Ossie85.  The World 15s (WXV) uses the Supercoach scoring method, the European 15s (EXV) use the Dream Team scoring method, and the Asian 15s (AXV) use the SportsBet scoring method.

1.2 The concept was designed for Fantasy Fans who want to experience the additional benefits of coaching a team that doesn't cease at the end of the regular season.  Players drafted into a 15s team remain with that team for the life of their career until they either retire, are delisted, or are traded to an opposition club.

1.3  In 2016 we went to a customised UF

2018 Scoring:

2.1 Initial drafts for the British 15s took place in the last half of 2012.  18 Teams participated in the Initial Draft each selecting 39 players from current AFL Rosters.

2.2 The draft was snaked and pick positions were determined using a randomising engine to ensure fairness.

2.3 Players were required to make their selection within 24 hours of the previous pick.  This was enforced by the league administrator who also had the ability to relax this rule dependant on circumstance.

3.1 In the foundation season of the league the National Draft will be conducted in a snake format, in the opposite direction to the Initial Draft.

3.2 All future drafts will be looped commencing with the team finishing last the previous season.

3.3 Each team will be allocated 4 picks which may be used in the draft, or traded on to other teams.

3.4  Priority Picks - Teams with less than 4 wins year 1 will have priority picks at end of Round 1 of National draft and if they also have less than 4 wins in year 2 then they will receive a priority pick following their Rd 1 Draft pick. Tanking will not be tolerated and will result in forfeiture of Round 1 pick as well

3.5 Players selected must be listed by an AFL club after the actual National Draft.  This may include players not already listed by a BXV team or players brought into the league via compensation picks.  This includes pre-listed 17 year olds and zone selections. If a player is delisted but you wish to keep him on your list you may hold that player

3.6 Coaches have 24 hours offline, or 2 hours online in which to make their selections, after the previous selection is made.  This will be enforced by the league administrator and discretion can be used where appropriate.

3.7 The draft will commence on the day following the actual AFL National Draft.

4.1 In the foundation season of the league the Rookie Draft will be conducted in a snake format, in the opposite direction to the Initial Draft.

4.2 In the foundation season only, compensation picks will be awarded to teams who lose players delisted by an AFL club.  If these players are redrafted by a new club, no compensation picks will be awarded.  In the event after the AFL Pre-Season and Rookie Drafts (December 11th 2012) all players no longer listed with an AFL club will be removed from their team list.  The team will then receive compensation picks in the following manner:

Players picked in the top 180 of the initial draft = Compensation pick prior to 1st round rookie draft
Players picked 181 - 270 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 1 of the rookie draft
Players picked 271 - 360 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 2 of the rookie draft
Players picked 361 - 450 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 3 of the rookie draft

These compensation picks may not be traded, and this process will not be repeated for future drafts

4.3 All future drafts will be looped commencing with the team finishing last the previous season.

4.4 Each team will be allocated 4 picks which may be used in the draft, or traded on to other teams.

4.5 Players selected in the rookie draft must be currently on an AFL list, and must not be currently listed by any British 15s team. If a player is delisted but you wish to keep him on your list you may hold that player on your list.

4.6Coaches have 24 hours offline, or 2 hours online in which to make their selections, after the previous selection is made.  This will be enforced by the league administrator and discretion can be used where appropriate.

4.7 At the conclusion of the rookie draft all teams must have 46 currently listed AFL players.  Teams not meeting filling this quote will receive additional picks at the conclusion of the rookie draft, in the same order as previous rounds.  These additional picks may not be traded.

4.8 All compensation picks will be awarded at the discretion of the administrator.  These may be awarded in abnormal circumstances which significantly affect the team in question.

5.1 Trading between teams is allowed as long as trades are determined to be reasonably fair between both parties.

5.2 Trades must be listed in the Trading Thread in the following format:

X Team receives: Player A

Y Team receives: Player B

Reason: Justification for why the trade has been made

The trade must be then confirmed by the other party in the trade, and they must list their reasons also

5.3 Trades will either Passed or Rejected by the league administrator.  The administrator will take into consideration the short and long term impacts to both teams, to ensure the trade does not damage a team's future chances of being competitive.

5.4 [ Where any coach feels that the decision of the administrator is incorrect or unfair, they may appeal the decision to the Trades Committee.  The Committee will review the decision, and have the power to confirm or over-rule the decision made by the administrator.  They will then provide feedback to the coaches involved. Rule Changed 2018 as follows;
5.4.a  Administration will rule on all trades and should 5 coaches object to the decision of Adminstrator then trade will be sent to a vote of all coaches. Coaches will have 5 days to object to decision.

5.5 The committee will consist of 3 members, not currently affiliated with the competition, who are deemed to be impartial.  The administrator will be charged with appointing the committee and ensuring they remain active. Deleted 2018

5.6 Trades for Trade Period 1 will be on an unlimited basis and can include Draft Picks. For trade period 2 trades are on a one for one basis.

5.7 There will be two trade periods per season, one before the drafts, and one after. Teams are entitled to 20 Player movements over the 2 trade periods.

5.8 A player movement is defined as moving a player from one team to another. Draft picks or players you have received as part of a trade can be on traded but will not count as a movement.

5.9 If a player that has been previously been on your list re-enters the competition you have first option by Using your last available rookie pick to retain with the option to return player to the pool.

5.10 Picks may be traded until day before National Draft

6.1 Every team must be led by a Senior Coach. This person is responsible for all aspects of managing the team.  The Senior Coach may appoint Assistant Coaches, Drafting Consultants or other staff as the Senior Coach desires.

6.2 New users of Fan Footy wishing to participate in the competition should contact the league administrator who will assist them to link with an existing team.

7.4 Emergency Scoring[/b]
Emergencies will play should a starting member of your team not play, but with conditions.

7.4a. If a player on the interchange is the same position as the player that pulled out, he will be moved into that position. The extra interchange spot will be filled by your FIRST preference listed emergency.
7.4b. If a player on the interchange is NOT of the same position, then option to replace the player who pulled out moves to your emergencies.
7.4c. Emergencies can only replace players in the SAME position for full points. If emergency used OOP than 1/2 points will apply.
7.4d. If an emergency is a Dual Position Player, he can be called into either position (i.e. if he is a Fwd/Mid, he can play as either a forward or mid)
7.4g. If you have more than 4 players in your starting 15 not playing, the highest value (determined by your draft selection) squad member from the rest of your team will play, but only a QUARTER (rounded up) of the score will count. I.e if Alan Toovey is the highest remaining squad member, and he scores 53, only 1/4 points will count towards your final score.
7.4h If a starting player has less than 25% TOG then the score from the emergency in the same position will apply.
7.4i If none of your emergencies can cover a non starting player in the exact position, then the first available playing emergency (not used elsewhere) will be substituted into the position for 1/2points OOP.

7.5 Use of Sub Sub rule scrapped at end of 2015 season

7.6 You can choose to play a player out of position e.g. Gary Ablett as a forward. But if you do so you will only get half there score.

Team scoring the most points will be the winner and be awarded the 4 points for winning each week.
Should both teams finish equal on points the the team with the highest number of points before the division by 10 will be declared the winner.  If both have equal points still the a draw will be called and each team awarded 2 points.

7.10 Rookie Rules - Rookie List abolished at conclusion of 2015 Season

7.11 Rising Star

For a player to be eligible for a nomination for The Rising Star Award, a player must meet the criteria listed by the AFL for their Rising Star Award, which is currently as follows:

- To be eligible for the AFL Rising Star Award, each year's nominated players must be under the age of 21 at 1 January and have played no more than 10 AFL games to the start of that season.

- They must not have been suspended by the AFL or State League tribunals during the season (as with the Brownlow Medal, players found guilty of certain offences and fined or reprimanded by the Tribunal remain eligible to win the award)."

At the conclusion of the BXVs 15 round regular sseason, only the nominations of players who have played at least 5 games and have not been suspended since their nomination

The Rising Star Award is voted on by all 16 current BXVs Coaches in preference order

In the case where there is no new players eligible to receive a nomination in a round no nomination recorded

In the case where there are multiple players tied for the most coaches' votes for the BXVs Rising Star, the award will be shared,

8.1 If you do not make contact within two weeks unless a reason is provided to the league administrator you may be sacked.

8.2 Teams must maintain a reasonably organised Team thread.  This should include at a minimum the current team list.

8.3 Tanking by any coach will not be accepted. It is fairly easy to judge if a player is tanking for draft picks or not. If anyone is caught tanking their first round draft pick for the national draft and priority pick will be taken away from them.

8.4 If a coach is sacked, the Administrator will advertise the position as available and accept nominations.  Nominations will be voted on by all remaining coaches, and the nominee with the most votes will be awarded the role.

8.5 When replacing a coach, the Administrator will advertise the position as available on the XVs Competition thread. Applicants will have three days to apply for the position, after which the nominees will be voted on by the BXV coaches.  The applicant with the most votes will be named as new coach and will start their new role immediately.

kilbluff1985

heaps of teams do not have current team lists in there threads pretty hard to try and put forward any trade offers when you don't know the team list

i been looking at the team lists thread to get a accurate list but still think some coaches should pay a bit more attention

Ringo

Note to coaches now that drafts are complete may be an idea for you all to update your threads with latest team lists.

Also check your team list against this thread as well

Did we relax slightly the bonus point timing for those in WA last year?

LF

Its doesn`t matter what time in the morning it is Monday as I start work at 5am so guess I`ll have to do it Sunday night either way.

kilbluff1985

Scores are not due by Monday morning anymore I can't remember if it was changed until Monday night or Tuesday morning but was changed

Ringo

To clarify when the final match of the round is on a Monday then you have till 9:00pm AEST to lodge scores.  However when the final game in Sunday deadline is still 9:00am AEST.

Sub rule applies for all rounds regardless of Partial lock out.

I have checked back through the records and can find nothing approving the extending the Monday deadline but did find the above for Monday games.  Happy to discuss extension if with newer coaches this now creates a problem but would not to extend till 9:00pm 12:00 noon maybe as most coaches would not be working Sunday evening and will allow ample time for update.

Apparently there has been some confusion on The Discord. This was changed like 4 years ago to same rules as AFL.
