1.1 The British 15's is the Virtual Sports version of the popular World 15s competitions developed by Ossie85.  The World 15s (WXV) uses the Supercoach scoring method, the European 15s (EXV) use the Dream Team scoring method, and the Asian 15s (AXV) use the SportsBet scoring method.

1.2 The concept was designed for Fantasy Fans who want to experience the additional benefits of coaching a team that doesn't cease at the end of the regular season.  Players drafted into a 15s team remain with that team for the life of their career until they either retire, are delisted, or are traded to an opposition club.

1.3 The Sportal scoring system works as follows:

Kick: 3 Points
Handball: 1 Point
Contested Possession: 4 Points - Any possession won in dispute (Contested mark, hardball get, loose all get, free kick for)
Uncontested Possession: 2 Points - Any possession gained from a team mate (uncontested mark, handball receive)
Tackle: 3 Points
Hitout: 1 Point
Clanger: -5 Points - Any blatant unforced error (free kick against, 50m penalty)
Goal: 6 Points
Behind: 1 Point

2.1 Initial drafts for the British 15s took place in the last half of 2012.  18 Teams participated in the Initial Draft each selecting 39 players from current AFL Rosters.

2.2 The draft was snaked and pick positions were determined using a randomising engine to ensure fairness.

2.3 Players were required to make their selection within 24 hours of the previous pick.  This was enforced by the league administrator who also had the ability to relax this rule dependant on circumstance.

3.1 In the foundation season of the league the National Draft will be conducted in a snake format, in the opposite direction to the Initial Draft.

3.2 All future drafts will be looped commencing with the team finishing last the previous season.

3.3 Each team will be allocated 4 picks which may be used in the draft, or traded on to other teams.

3.4 Players selected must be listed by an AFL club after the actual National Draft.  This may include players not already listed by a BXV team or players brought into the league via compensation picks.  This includes pre-listed 17 year olds and zone selections.

3.5 Coaches have 24 hours offline, or 2 hours online in which to make their selections, after the previous selection is made.  This will be enforced by the league administrator and discretion can be used where appropriate.

3.6 The draft will commence at 8pm in the evening after the actual AFL National Draft.

4.1 In the foundation season of the league the Rookie Draft will be conducted in a snake format, in the opposite direction to the Initial Draft.

4.2 In the foundation season only, compensation picks will be awarded to teams who lose players delisted by an AFL club.  If these players are redrafted by a new club, no compensation picks will be awarded.  In the evening after the AFL Pre-Season and Rookie Drafts (December 11th 2012) all players no longer listed with an AFL club will be removed from their team list.  The team will then receive compensation picks in the following manner:

Players picked in the top 180 of the initial draft = Compensation pick prior to 1st round rookie draft
Players picked 181 - 270 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 1 of the rookie draft
Players picked 271 - 360 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 2 of the rookie draft
Players picked 361 - 450 in the initial draft = Compensation picks after round 3 of the rookie draft

These compensation picks may not be traded, and this process will not be repeated for future drafts

4.3 All future drafts will be looped commencing with the team finishing last the previous season.

4.4 Each team will be allocated 3 picks which may be used in the draft, or traded on to other teams.

4.5 Players selected in the rookie draft must be currently on an AFL list, and must not be currently listed by any British 15s team

4.6 At the conclusion of the rookie draft all teams must have 46 currently listed AFL players.  Teams not meeting filling this quote will receive additional picks at the conclusion of the rookie draft, in the same order as previous rounds.  These additional picks may not be traded.

4.7 All compensation picks will be awarded at the discretion of the administrator.  These may be awarded in abnormal circumstances which significantly affect the team in question.

5.1 Trading between teams is allowed as long as trades are determined to be reasonably fair between both parties.

5.2 Trades must be listed in the Trading Thread in the following format:

X Team receives: Player A

Y Team receives: Player B

Reason: Justification for why the trade has been made

The trade must be then confirmed by the other party in the trade, and they must list their reasons also

5.3 Trades will either Passed or Rejected by the league administrator.  The administrator will take into consideration the short and long term impacts to both teams, to ensure the trade does not damage a team's future chances of being competitive.

5.4 Where any coach feels that the decision of the administrator is incorrect or unfair, they may appeal the decision to the Trades Committee.  The Committee will review the decision, and have the power to confirm or over-rule the decision made by the administrator.  They will then provide feedback to the coaches involved.

5.5 The committee will consist of 3 members, not currently affiliated with the competition, who are deemed to be impartial.  The administrator will be charged with appointing the committee and ensuring they remain active.

The current committee is comprised of Ziplock, Jayman and MyChumps

5.6 Trades must be conducted in a 1 for 1 manner.  This includes the trade of draft picks.

5.7 There will be two trade periods per season, one before the drafts, and one after. Teams are entitled to 5 player movements per trade period.

5.8 A player movement is defined as when a player on your list from the previous season (initial draft for initial season) is traded to another team. Draft picks or players you have received as part of a trade can be on traded without being considered a player movement.

6.1 Every team must be led by a Senior Coach. This person is responsible for all aspects of managing the team.  The Snior Coach may appoint Assistant Coaches, Drafting Consultants or other staff as the Senior Coach desires.

6.2 New users of Fan Footy wishing to participate in the competition should contact the league administrator who will assist them to link with an existing team.

6.3 Teams participating in the British 15s are:

7.1 Teams must be named weekly before the first game each week:

7.2 Teams must be named in the following format:
Backs: *** , *** , *** , ***  - Four starting backs
Mids: ***, ***, ***, ***  - Four starting mids
Ruck: ***  - One starting ruck
Forwards: ***, ***, ***, ***  - Four starting forwards
Utilities: ***, ***  - Two starting utilities (These can be players from any position)
Emergencies: ***, ***, ***  - Three emergencies (From any position)
Captain: Double points
Vice - Captain:

7.3 You can choose to play a player out of position e.g. Gary Ablett as a forward. But if you do so you will only get half there score.

7.4 The team playing at home will have the advantage of their lowest scoring player having their score doubled.

8.1 If you do not make contact within two weeks unless a reason is provided to the league administrator you will be sacked.

8.2 Teams must maintain a reasonably organised Team thread.  This should include at a minimum the current team list.

8.3 Tanking by any coach will not be accepted. It is fairly easy to judge if a player is tanking for draft picks or not. If anyone is caught tanking their first round draft pick for the national draft will be taken away from them.

8.4 If a coach is sacked, the Administrator will advertise the position as available and accept nominations.  Nominations will be voted on by all remaining coaches, and the nominee with the most votes will be awarded the role.

8.5 When replacing a coach, the Administrator will advertise the position as available on both the XVs Competition thread and in the Front Bar.  Applicants will have three days to apply for the position, after which the nominees will be voted on by the BXV coaches.  The applicant with the most votes will be named as new coach and will start their new role immediately.

Amazing Job !!!!

Thanks mate. Fair way to go, but we are on our way!

Anybody, feel free to comment on the rules, to make suggestions and to identify gaps. This should eventually be the one-stop shop for everything we need to know about the BXV!

4.5 Players selected in the rookie draft must be currently on an AFL list, and must not be currently listed by any British 15s team
