Very nice calculations done their DT Gun.

Interesting to see the prices so early, but they look about right!

What will Varcoe be at after only playing one game for a score of 9 this year? Surely he'll be massively underpriced

Ya cant price someone like Varcoe who has an average of 9 for the year..
Ill use porplyzias price from this year as an example..

Porplyzias starting price was about 200k if i remember correctly.
So to test this i used porps 68.4 average from 2011 x the magic number of this year and it gave me = 338,306
Obviously it isnt 50% so i tried giving him a 40% discount and it gave me a price of = 202,984

So Varcoe should be priced at his 2011 average of 65 with a 40% discount, thats what they did with porplyzia anyway

So 65 x Magic Number with a 40% discount = 192,894

If someone can tell me Porplyzias starting price from this year that would be handy to check how close i am

I dont think you can price someone like Varcoe who has an average of 9 for the year..

I think varcoe will be priced at his 2011 average of 65 with a 50% discount

So i think he may be priced at roughly 160,745 which is fair game i think
especially with a full preseason and if he can build on his 2010 form

Ziplock

yeah, it'll be a porplyzia scenario where he should be rookie priced, but they'll push his price up because that's be ridiculous :P

DT Gun

sorry i edited the earlier post while you 2 commented, remembered porplyzia just after i replied

Ricochet

ok cool, could definitely get a look in at that price

Porps
http://dreamteam.afl.com.au/player/30
started at $202,500

DT Gun

Yeh so my calculations were pretty accurate

I had Porplyzia at 202,984 when he was 202,500 so

If i had Varcoe at 192,894 I would pencil him in at 192,500.

Ricochet

and i would lock him into my team i think

Koby Stevens played 2 games last year (guessed he played 2 games first crack how good am i haha)

He was priced at 104k in 2012

He averaged
61.8 in 2010
36 from 2 games in 2011

He wasnt priced on his 2010 average of 61.8. With the max discount he would have been 150k ish so it looks like he was priced at 36 with a discount which brought him too low so they put him at a rookie price.

So i think Gray would be priced at his 67 average of this year with a 40% discount

So i think he will be = 198,829

And going on previous calculations = 198,500 haha

your other calcs seem spot on, i cant see VS letting gray go this cheap. Im sure they will do pull something to make him 300k . I would still pay that.

These prices are all wrong. Apart from anything else, the salary cap changes next year so the magic number changes too.
