Not accusing you or wanting to create more work for you CW as after all you know what needs to be done, and how it needs to be done - you're the boss and I respect your decisions, as I'm sure everyone else does as well. :)

If it's too hard then no worries!

*BTW my comment about Nicholls not being on a list was just something interesting I thought others might think is funny! :P

Nails

IIRC for our proper draft we didn't have a list did we?

Just don't have a list of them just make them known as available or something. They should be available imo

We all know a decent % of players drafted in NAT Draft/Rookie draft NEVER EVER see AFL games

I don't see a reason to be forced to draft them when there's players not yet selected getting regular/decent AFL action.

ok we will vote on it.

as i said i am happy to put how we do it to a vote.

part of drafting is picking the right players as it is in the AFL, if you draft a spud - even if that spud was a high draft pick thats a fail, and it happens in the AFL.

I am for allowing this in the rookie/ preseason draft - as it feels right to me to be picking existing older players in that draft, but i think the national draft should be ONLY for what it is for - U18 talent. ONLY>

I will monitor the list and the delistings and retirements over the off season if we decide to include these existing players in either of or both of our drafts for next season.

it won't be that hard, it was just hard the first season i suppose next season will be easier....

anyway it will go to the vote. same as byes trades a few other rule points which have come up, and anything else which is raised by the end of the season.

if we can improve or make the comp better in the opinion of the majority of coaches we will naturally make the changes.

My main desire however is to try to make our competition as AFL - LIFE - LIKE as possible. I would like owning a team in the AXVS to be as close as possible to running a real AFL club... the list anyway...

I really wish I took Nicholls :( bi picked him up in British... And that is why I brought it up as I need a player  to play ruckbthis week :(

Yeah I agree that some players should be allowed to be selected next year and should not be invisible. All these players should be able to be picked up in the rookie draft.

BB67th

Definitely should be able to pick up those players who weren't selected. Doesn't make sense if they just go to waste and can never be picked. I personally think that they should be able to be selected in any draft. This is as if say Nicholls becomes an absolute gun this year, suddenly the rookie 1 pick becomes more valuable than the NAT 1 pick. I don't think it should be that way. You are the coach and you should be able to pick who you draft and when.

i get what you are saying but that is NOT how the AFL works.... the AFL teams can't just use national draft picks to pick up ANY PLAYERS other than the elligible national draft players.....

And it makes no difference either as the draft order for national and rookie/preseason in AXVS is the SAME in all future seasons, so the bottom team with pick #1 has it in the national draft and the rookie/preseason draft.

If you want to be more like the AFL, than the AFL can pick up players who's not currently in AFL through rookie draft... so we can pick up these players through the rookie draft?

Colliwobblers

that's what i am thinking Whatlez, yes, bt in the end we will come up with a few options and vote.

Nails btw, Chad Cornes out for the year hahaha

Nails

flower asians is such a dick

He was a gun defender last year too

Lost our 3rd and 4th best defenders after the draft

No Gram, no Chad Cornes

no flowering luck.

Jay

Bet you're regretting this trade Nails?

Strikers give: Scotland, ROOKIE pick 19 (Nathan Stark). Strikers get: Thompson (N.M), NAT pick 48 (Dean Terlich)

Nails

It's not really that bad, seeing as who got who is kinda irrelevant. Scotland could turn it around and get us into the finals and make it all worth it.

Although Thompson has been better than I would have liked. (except for Worlds)
