Wow, great write up rb!

I will no doubt do one of my own, the trouble is that I get sick of writing them by about round 3 lol
That's what I'm worried is going to happen to me haha

As long as I've got the time I'll make sure to do the senior list at least, hopefully I get the chance to do everyone most rounds.

Toronto Wolves Rd2 Review

The Wolves go down valiantly in unfortunate circumstances as the Seoul Magpies get revenge for their missing of finals last year, partially due to Toronto beating them in this encounter last year. Toronto find themselves sitting in 9th spot on the ladder and are going to need to rally with a very tough fortnight coming up. Wellington at home won't be easy and the message has gone out to all Toronto supporters to get down to the Rogers Centre to get behind the boys in their push for top 8, and the Armadillos on the road is one of the hardest assignments in WXV but we have faith that we can beat anyone on our day.

Toronto Wolves 19.15.129 defeated by Seoul Magpies 20.20.140
An encounter that promised to be exciting from the word go started well for the Wolves with big scores to Jack Riewoldt and 1st EMG Clinton Jones, who managed to make his way onto the interchange bench as Clint Young went down with a hamstring injury. After that the Magpies gradually extended the lead further and further led by skipper and vice skipper combination Deledio and Dangerfield and also by ruckman Ben McEvoy who beat his opponent (Jolly) by a massive 129 points, a decisive matchup in the end result.

Player Review:
Nathan Grima - 62
Started really well but had a horror last quarter including giving away a free kick to lose the game for North and stripping him of ~15 points. Not my favourite person at the moment!
Michael Johnson - 62
Again not good enough and there is only so long we can keep the faith in him. Defence really struggling.
Dan Nicholson - 46
Very, very poor by Nicholson and only made the defence situation worse for the Wolves. A real struggle.
Sam Butler - 86
A really really good debut by Butler, top scoring the defenders by a fair way. Sets the example for the more senior members of the team! Good stuff Butts.

Scott Pendlebury - 121 (242)
Another good game by the ever consistant skipper. Know what you're going to get from him every week, very admirable.
Andrew Swallow - 111
Good performance again in a losing side by Spitta, could have scored a lot more if the Roos had've got up. Well done VC.
Jack Ziebell - 98
Solid by Ziebs, working towards that high 90s-100s ave we're pushing for this year.
Brock McLean - 37
A surprise pick by Malthouse to be sub and along with Jolly ended up costing the Wolves the game IMO. He did play well after getting the chance so hopefully that is the last time he'll be substitute!

Darren Jolly - 1
Probably ended up being the score that decided the match, along with others but 129 points lower than his ruck opponent McEvoy was a big blow for the Wolves. A very important player and we hope that he isn't out for too long as he's vital to the Wolves structure.

Jack Riewoldt - 138
Great effort by JRoo bouncing back after last weeks down game with 7 goals. Couldn't ask for any more!
Dayne Zorko - 79
Still not good enough from the Zork, we have high expectations after chasing him so hard in the pre-season and we are confident he is not suffering from second year blues and will bounce back next week.
Paddy Ryder - 88
Better than last week's shambles but still demand more from him. Will most likely take over the number 1 ruck role with Jolly injured now.
Mitch Robinson - 80
Not bad by Robbo, wouldn't mind an extra 10-15 from him but a good bounceback after last weeks concussion.

Clint Jones - 116
Started as emergency but luckily for the Wolves his huge score got counted and he'll certainly stay in the XV now. Well done to him on working his way into the side after not being in consideration for round 1. Hopefully he can keep up the good form.
Ben Cunnington - 47
Very poor by Cunners after a big week last week. Did I make the wrong choice settling for him over Basti? Only time will tell.

Reserves
Toronto Wolves 19.9.123 defeated Pyongyang Chollimas 16.4.100

Another good performance by the reserves finds them sitting in 5th spot on the ladder. Good performance again by Michael Jamison pushing for a spot in the struggling Wolves defence and Andrew Embley also played well.

Player Review
Michael Jamison - 80
Another very good performance by Jamo and he will push very strongly for selection this week with an underperforming backline.
Steven Morris - 65
Better performance by Morris and back to what he should finish up averaging roughly. Provides good backup.
Matt Shaw - 58
I said last week I'd take a season of 60's from the young man, 58 will do!
Thomas Jonas (R) - 61
Good performance by rookie listed Jonas, putting his name up for mid-season promotion.
Andrew Embley - 74
I said last week that without the sub vest he has good scoring potential, good performance this week, won't push for senior selection at this stage but if he keeps lifting his scores you never know.
Jamie MacMillan - 61
Still not quite good enough from JMac, was very close to the XV at the start of the season but will need to string some more 70+ games together.
Ben Johnson - 59
Good to see him still on the park producing decent enough reserves scores.
David Rodan - 15
Always tough coming on as the sub when your team's down by 20 goals!
Aaron Hall - 67
Good game by Hall, good to see him constantly improving. I'll certainly take a season of 60-70s! Good stuff.
Tom Bell - 55
Good to see Bell back in the side but for someone who played a number of games in the XV last year 55 isn't good enough. Hopefully he can continue to get more and more game time for the Blues and up his scores.
Ash McGrath - 22
Things are just going from bad to worse for McGrath, with now 62 points in 2 games from a senior member of the squad. His fwd/def is handy as an emergency but he'll need to score a lot more than that.

Did Not Play:
Clint Young, Cameron Pedersen, Matt Maguire, Aaron Joseph, Tom Hickey, Aaron Edwards, Ben Mabon, Taylor Hine, Nick Salter, Mark Whiley, Tom Curran, Levi Greenwood, Jesse Crichton, Frazer Dale, Jesse White, Tommy Walsh, Mason Shaw, Jacob Gillbee

Highlights:
- Pendles C/Swallow VC combination again very good with 353 between them.
- First gamer Sam Butler very handy with 86 in defence.
- Jack Riewoldt back to his destructive best with 7 goals and 138 points.
- Clint Jones and Michael Jamison backing up their good games last week with good scores again this week and working their way into the team.

Lowlights:
- Darren Jolly sustained a rib injury early in the game and only scored 1 point but a bigger concern is his availability in coming weeks for the Wolves.
- Clint Young injured his hamstring playing for Collingwood's VFL side but the talk is that it isn't too bad fortunately.
- The whole defence for the Wolves (minus first gamer Butler) were disappointing for the second week in a row.
- Brock McLean getting the sub vest wasn't a pleasant surprise and hopefully it's the last time that happens.
- 18 players not playing for their AFL sides isn't good enough, especially Cam Pedersen getting dropped. Hine, Maguire, Hickey, Edwards, Crichton all possibly very close to selection/return from injury.

Cheers Daz. Helps me more than anyone else really, just a way to track how everyone in the squad's tracking and helps with constructing my XV every week. Just putting my thoughts down it's probably rubbish to read haha.

That's a fair point actually hadn't looked at it that way! Just seemed like plenty when I was writing it up when IMO Toronto's a club that prides itself on it's depth. Like I mentioned hopefully 5/6 maybe even 7 depending on the extent of Jolly's injury (no broken bones, phew!) aren't too far away!

Good news to see young Taylor Hine will be making his North Melbourne debut, doubt he'll find a way into the Wolves best WV just yet but hopefully it's only a matter of time!

Toronto Wolves Rd3 Review

A resounding victory for the Wolves over a disappointing Wellington.

Toronto Wolves 23.18.156 defeated by Wellington Warriors 16.13.109
After a huge clash in the finals last year this one loomed as a big match but unfortunately it was not to be with the Warriors being very disappointing in their start to the season and this week was no exception. A very comfortable victory for the Wolves, and head coach roo boys! had this to say:
"This is our second clash against a lower standard opponent, and with all due respect to Beijing and Wellington we want to be focusing on our performances and work on what we need to be doing to beat the top sides. Our highest score so far this year by a fair way so we are very happy with how the boys went"

Player Review:
Nathan Grima - 89
Finally a good game from Narni, knew that if we kept the faith he would pull through!
Michael Johnson - 107
Similar to Narni, he was THIS close to getting dropped and responded in the best possible fashion. Kudos.
Sam Butler - 56
After starring in his debut for the Wolves this week was a lot worse for Butler, maybe due to the fact the ball didn't spend a lot of time in his defence.
Michael Jamison - 66
Not good by Jamo in his first game in the seniors for this year, if Nicholson returns he may find himself on the outer, who knows.

Scott Pendlebury - 124 (248)
Another good game by the ever consistant skipper. Know what you're going to get from him every week, very admirable. Started like a house on fair but a hip ailment of some sort slowed him down in the second half.
Andrew Swallow - 99
Solid by Spitta, a bit down on our high standards for him but will increase his scoring again when North start winning.
Jack Ziebell - 63
After a good week last week he was back to his ordinary self this year, C'MON ZIEBS! We all know you're better than that.
Brock McLean - 109
See what he can do when you give him the whole game!!! Good stuff.

Paddy Ryder - 145
Huge game from Ryder, he was brilliant especially the last goal. But he's gone for 3 weeks for a stupid act which is a great frustration! Hopefully Jolly can be back this week otherwise we're looking pretty thin. Good time to have kept Hudson hey?

Jack Riewoldt - 85
Not bad.
Dayne Zorko - 67
Still not good enough from the Zork, we have high expectations after chasing him so hard in the pre-season and we are confident he is not suffering from second year blues and will bounce back next week.
Mitch Robinson - 81
Again not bad by Robbo, nice and consistant. Wouldn't mind an extra 10-15 but there's bigger issues in the team at the moment than 80s.
Aaron Hall - 90
YES! The one score that made me very delighted to see this week, given a chance in the seniors due to circumstances and some solid scores in the reserves, to be perfectly honest wasn't expecting much more than 65 from him and would have taken a 70 any day, 90 is brilliant very impressed by the young man.

Clint Jones - 74
Bit of a return to earth from his 116 but solid enough. Would take an 85 ave from him.
Ben Cunnington - 127
Obviously took my words about regretting not getting Basti over him to heart and produced a ripper score that I've always known he was capable of. Great stuff by Cunners.

Reserves
Toronto Wolves 18.13.121 defeated Wellington Warrios 11.10.76[/u]
Another good performance by the reserves finds them sitting in 3rd spot on the ladder, highlighting our strong depth. Jamie MacMillan, Ben Johnson and Aaron Joseph the standouts for Toronto.

Player Review
Steven Morris - 41
Quiet day at the office for young Morris. Let's hope he can return to mid-60s!
Matt Shaw - 54
I said last week I'd take a season of 60's from the young man, 54 is almost there haha.
Thomas Jonas (R) - 67
Another good performance by rookie listed Jonas, seriously putting his name up for mid-season promotion now.
Andrew Embley - 51
Not a good day from a senior player.
Jamie MacMillan - 93
Really good bounceback after a few quiet weeks by JMac, not sure if it will be enough to get him of the emergencies list but certainly putting his name up.
Ben Johnson - 94
We all know what he's capable of, could be very good backup and may get some games later in the year if circumstances require it (hopefully not!)
Taylor Hine - 48
Good to see him make his North Melbourne debut.
Ash McGrath - 54
Having a horror start to the year.

Did Not Play:
Clint Young, Darren Jolly, Matt Maguire, Dan Nicholson, David Rodan, Tom Bell, Tom Hickey, Aaron Edwards, Ben Mabon, Nick Salter, Mark Whiley, Tom Curran, Levi Greenwood, Jesse Crichton, Frazer Dale, Jesse White, Tommy Walsh, Mason Shaw, Jacob Gillbee

*Good to see reserves Walsh and Gillbee have strong matches in their respective AFL sides reserves team amongst others.

Toronto Wolves Rd4 Review

A resounding defeat for the Wolves drops them out of the 8, as the Armadillos post a record score.

Toronto Wolves 20.16.136 defeated by Buenos Aires Armadillos 28.19.187
HUGE effort on the part of coach Nails and his Buenos Aires mates, we never really stood a chance against that but still not happy with our score, with some big clashes coming up we will struggle to win and thus make finals with those sort of 130-140 scores.

Player Review:
Nathan Grima - 97
After a poor start to the year the Grima of old was back last week and this week, good to see.
Michael Johnson - 45
Horrible by the up and down man, possibly up for a least consistent award haha.
Sam Butler - 54
Maybe I got a bit carried away after a good debut from him? Poor last two weeks, hopefully Nicholson/Maguire are back next week.
Michael Jamison - 87
Good stuff by Jamison, he's been putting in some solid enough scores this year but as a key defender can have his quiet ones.

Scott Pendlebury - 105 (210)
Fairly quiet by his lofty standards but this week's ANZAC Day and we all know what that means!
Andrew Swallow - 90
Copped a few big knocks and played on manfully for a respectable score after it looked pretty bad for a while.
Jack Ziebell - 106
Really good game by Ziebs, pretty quiet in the last quarter once the game was done which is fine, but was on track for a really big one. I'll take 106 any day though.
Brock McLean - 127
Back to back tons, really good from the Wolves recruit. Midfield looking real nice.

Jamie MacMillan (OOP) - 94 (47)
Really good game from JMac, shame I had to play him OOP! Hopefully, HOPEFULLY Jolly should be back for ANZAC Day, the short turn-around doesn't help but oh well.

Jack Riewoldt - 93
Good again by JRoo, in some pretty solid form this year.
Dayne Zorko - 105
What I said last week: "Still not good enough from the Zork, we have high expectations after chasing him so hard in the pre-season and we are confident he is not suffering from second year blues and will bounce back next week." I was right! Well done Zork.
Mitch Robinson - 78
Again not bad by Robbo, nice and consistant. Wouldn't mind an extra 15-20 but there's bigger issues in the team at the moment than near 80s.
Aaron Hall - 56
After a really good debut last week he was back down to earth again.

Clint Jones - 110
Bit of a return to earth from his 116 but solid enough. Would take an 85 ave from him.
Ben Cunnington - 56
Little bit of consistency would be nice Cunners! May have been labouring due to his head clash with Majak? Who knows.

Reserves
Toronto Wolves 8.10.56 defeated Buenos Aires Armadillos 8.8.54 [/u]
Another win by the reserves finds them sitting in 3rd spot on the ladder.

Player Review
Steven Morris - 46
Quiet day at the office for young Morris, hasn't been very good this year and out for next week due to suspension.
Matt Shaw - 60
Very consistant from Shaw, I'd be happy with 60-70 every week.
Thomas Jonas (R) - 40
Bit quieter by Jonas but still looking pretty good for mid-season promotion.
Taylor Hine - 60
Not a bad day at the office by young Hine.
Ash McGrath - 0
Calf injury doesn't look great..
Aaron Joseph - 8
At least he's playing? Haha
Nick Haynes - 26
Same thing as Joseph.

Bit late so apologies to all the loyal fans who've been waiting all week for the write-up, trying out a different format today.

Def: N.Grima (59), M.Johnson (97), M.Jamison (73), C.Pedersen (46) = 275
275 from 4 players is incredibly disappointing, this line is struggling big time this year. Grima quiet again after a few good weeks, Johnson played really well but was let down massively by Pedersen who has had a shocker of a year at the Dees thus far. Not happy, drafted him as an 85+ ave first year defender and thought the club change would be nothing but good news but he has let us down. Jamo solid enough, would prefer 80 but still safe with Pedo performing as he is.
Mid: S.Pendlebury (136), A.Swallow (125), B.McLean (126), Ziebell (79) = 602 (C inc)
The terrific trio continue their fine work in the middle, super pleased with the years they're all having. All ranked inside the top 22 players for the round. Ziebell down again but he's still young and we'll keep the faith.
Ruc: J.MacMillan (81) = 41
JMac has done well filling the void left by Jolly, shame his score has to be halved but he's certainly done the job.
Fwd: D.Zorko (151), J.Riewoldt (51), M.Robinson (89), A.Hall (41) = 332
Zorko has gone huge after a good game last week and afraid to say it as I traded him out of my SC but could he be back? For WXV sakes we hope he is. JRoo had his first real down game of the year and it was a real shame as it was a big week for the club. With all the criticism this week expect him to bounce back in emphatic fashion. Robbo has been pretty consistently pumping out these scores all year and while I'd like more from him I guess it could be a lot worse. Hall poor again after a fairytale first few games and he finds himself dropped.
Int: B.Cunnington (82), C.Jones (87) = 169
Decent enough by these two lads but see no reason why they can't be averaging 100. Same situation as Robbo.

Reserves
Def: S.Butler (100), A.McGrath (98), Matt Shaw (93), Thomas Jonas (62), Taylor Hine (46)
Really really good defensive depth this week especially with Maguire, Nicholson, Morris all out. Butler shame he got injured as he, McGrath and Shaw were really impressive.
Mid: D.Rodan (63)
Good by Rodan.

Fwd: Nick Haynes (45)
Dropped this week, shame.

Toronto Wolves Rd 6 Review
Toronto Wolves 23.14.152 def New Delhi Tigers 17.12.114
Nice solid victory for the Wolves over the lowly Tigers. No disrespect to New Delhi but this was one that we were not expected to drop and if we did it could have put a halt on top four aspirations. Good to see the boys put in again with another 150 plus score, promising signs.
Def: Nathan Grima (57), Michael Jamison (75), Michael Johnson (85), Dan Nicholson (65)
Defence still struggles...Grima on his last legs, Nicholson a poor recruit at this stage, Jamo and Johnson solid without being amazing.
Mid: Scott Pendlebury (C) (322), Andrew Swallow (134), Jack Ziebell (95), Brock McLean (78)

For a game that promised so much, quite low scoring lacklustre effort from both sides really! Always nice to get the victory though, I'm not complaining.

Good win for the Wolves to get and very happy with a score of 157, especially considering Pendles and Swallow weren't the real factors that got us all our points. Toronto Wolves Rd 10 Review
Toronto Wolves 20.15.135 defeated Cape Town Cobras 20.9.129
Vital victory over another top 4 aspirant in Cape Town. Low scoring affair but lucky to scrape over the line against very high quality opposition. Pendles, Swallow lead the way again and Jolly returns to form with a bang. Inclusion Tommy Bell was the substitute and did his very best to lose me the game!
Def: M.Johnson (78), S.Butler (75), M.Jamison (62), M.Shaw (60)
Again a very ordinary performance and with Grima and Pederson both scoring 81 in the reserves there is pressure on.
Mid: S.Pendlebury (C) (238), A.Swallow (114), B.McLean (79), B.Cunnington (108)
Cunners just keeps on performing! Pendles and Swallow good again without setting the world on fire.
Ruc: D.Jolly (136)
Welcome back big fella! Knew he wouldn't stay down for long, just the one week in fact haha
Fwd: D.Zorko (100), P.Ryder (54), J.Riewoldt (65), M.Robinson (94)
Robbo, Zorks good. Riewoldt lifted after being on 10 at half time, Ryder had a shocker.
Int: Jamie MacMillan (71), Tom Bell (9)
Oh Tommy Tommy Tommy....cya later son.
