The allocations are done like draft day.  Picks are done from reverse order of the ladder (last picks first etc).  There are priority picks as well - if a club gets less than 5 wins (which both Perth and Peel did in 2010).  So between Perth and Peel they had the first 4 picks.

2. Peel (priority pick) - Scott Lycett
3. Peel - Peter Faulks
4. Perth - Jayden Pitt
5. Peel - Viv Michie
6. South Fremantle - Andrew Gaff
7. Subiaco - Jack Anthony
8. West Perth - Josh Mellington
9. Perth - Gavin Roberts

interesting... wonder how Gaff Daddy goes pick 4 in national... yet 6 in WAFL, great research Valk!

Depends on what each team needs.  The AFL teams generally goes for the best player available where as the WAFL teams normally go for what they need.

Peel need players that are going to play as well.

No point picking Gaff who may never actually play a game for them.
