general concensus is save the trade for injuries?

roo boys!

Those are good trade choices, I would go dids over higgins purely on form

Left Foot Snap

Hey just want a bit of help with my team - 10 Trades, $30K

Backs: Goddard, Hodge, Scotland, Gilbee, Goodwin, Waters, Silvagni (Nason, Webberley)

Mids: GAJ, Swan, Mitchell, Boyd, J Selwood, Barlow (Trengove, JKT)
Rucks: Sandi, Kreuzer (Warnock, Trengove)

Forwards: ROK, J Brown, Higgins, Didak, Pods, Rockliff, Ballantyne (Gumby, G Rohan)

I am strongly considering Sylvia in, Trengove Jack out. Then Rohan to mids and sylvia on field in forwards.

Good move or should i make a different one??

Cheers

goodes rather than sylvia but look at upgrading silvagni first, solid team

Left Foot Snap

$54k between Goodes and Sylvia, i agree somewhat of a risk but i believe Sylvia has a better potential upside.

Would i be better off say trengove to Gysberts and then nason to duff etc and silvagni on bench, i thought Sylvia would be more beneficial with mpp???

benjy251090

goodes is also mpp but if you are willing to risk it with sylvia, your call, i would get rid of silvagni rather than nason as he is on the senior list and silvagni is still rookie listed

yep id say hes definately gna miss this week and depending on how it goes could be a few more.

He isn't out for certain. If he responds to the blood thinners their likely giving him, he could still be fit for selection. He has an entire week basically to recover..Colin's still a decent chance imo....(im trying to stay positive  :P )
-Looks like a lot of dream teamers  hopes will rest firmly on the shoulders of gumbleton and hitchcock this week   :-\ (higgins out, pods groin and now sylvia issue)    :o

@ thornz
- how can you possibly make such a diagnosis this early? a PHD in dream team does not give you an automatic PHD in medicine...

-the reasoning behind my first post was that my dad had a similar issue with his foot a few years ago;  he was in hospital on thinners (warfarin) and it took just 2 days until he was released, fit and healthy.
But I guess we'll find out in due course won't we, Dr thornz23... ;)

Being fit and healthy is all well and good for your Dad, but being fit and healthy enough to play 120 minutes of highly intense football is another.

Dr thornz i like that.. :P but yes wooly is definately right there is a massive difference between being fit and healthy and being match fit. Just being bed ridden for 3 days will have a massive effect on his fitness. I would just think it very unlikely that he will come back this week, even if he is match ready i would think they would rest him just as a precaution

Prospector_1

Just guessing, but Sylvia is prolly starting from a better fitness base than Dad => likely to recover much quicker.

Dr wooly's turn:

Granted he has a higher fitness base, however if he is getting treated with blood thinners (which he almost certainly would be), his blood will obviously be thinned. This reduces his oxidative capacity (i.e. his ability to supply oxygen to working muscles) and therefore reduce his performance. For this reason he may be kept out.
