#8
Quito Quetzals 17.11.113 lost to Chicago Sharks 18.8.116
(Real: 1692 vs 1746)

Reilly O'Brien and Mitch Lewis...the kingmakers for Chicago as they get an upset victory on the road to send Quito to the curb. Both teams have been very up and down all season (remember when Quito started 0-2? And Chicago struggled into finals but were lucky Houston were way more shower?), but Chicago put up a defendable score, even with CC Oliver doing poorly and a dearth of good scoring in the forwards and utilities, and Quito fell a fair bit short. We all know Quito could compete with Wisconsin, Vegas, and Boston, but now they'll be watching from the sidelines as we wonder if Chicago can do the same.

Best
Quito: Dunkley, Mills, McCluggage, Swallow
Chicago: Brayshaw, Hurn, Parker, Guthrie, Darling

Boston Terriers 19.7.121 defeated Carolina Panthers 16.11.107
(Real: 1810 vs 1611)

A much more expected outcome, as a poor Carolina missing Shiel and Josh Kelly (for varied reasons) fall well short of a solid Boston performance, as their South Australian crew (by birth or by playing for crom) carry them through to the next round and a second chance. Three 40s scores up forward for Carolina was a disaster, as was Bont not doing his usual Bont things and going nuts, while Grundy was sorely missed all season. Like Quito we all know what Carolina are capable of, but they didn't find that form enough in 2022 or this weekend.

Best
Boston: Laird, Smith, Walker, Neale
Carolina: Rozee, Stringer, Ryan

Wisconsin Cockerels 19.11.125 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 19.10.124
(Real: 1877 vs 1856)

This would really hurt for Vegas...they were MUCH better all over the ground (just look at the best!) except for where it matters most, as Xavier O'Neill (didn't think I'd be typing his name in a finals match review) let Miller do whatever he wanted on his way to a 153 as C, a mere 84 points more than the Vegas captain Chadley "I send pics of my asshole to chicks" Warner - and 114 to 74 in the VC department was a big difference as well. Lucky for Wisconsin but they'll take it and ready for Boston next week, while Vegas can keep their chins up high as they head into being big favourites against Chicago.

Best
Wisconsin: Miller, Ross, Gawn, De Goey
Las Vegas: Petracca, Gulden, Dawson, Rowbottom, Butters, Blakey, Lyons, Mitchell
