After Saturday

Buenos Aires really are in all-sorts of trouble. Even putting aside Laird's dominant captain performance aside... they don't look like winning another game this year. They gotta find form next week, or these minor premiers will be out in straight sets.

Big game NDT v Rio! The Tigers have been going tremendously well... until Mitch Lewis, suffering a knock in Q1 but carried it til Q3, destroying NDTs HGA in the process and getting the Jags back in the game. Rio should probably score around 1400, meaning Captain Anderson will need to steer the ship home with a steady ton. It's going to be tight I think!

The amazing start from Mexico City has been offset by a host of 40/50s, but Beijing haven't done much to give them a chance, lead by an awful 9 from CM Brown. Ouch. Neale double-ton or I think the Pandas go home.

Perhaps the most anticipated game of the round - fresh from their Idol final - Rome's young players have run out of petrol, also getting a low return from CC Daicos and Moore. The Gladiators will likely score one of their lowest totals for the year, but also could push 140, as they've still had good performers. PNL have the advantage, but that's assuming favourite son Zerrett will perform. A sub 80 or 90 will make this game very interesting very quickly.

Pandas shocked by Suns hot start

As I've harped on about, the game seemed decided by Friday night, when all of its players scored 99+! The Pandas were always on the back foot, and where not helped by the withdrawals of big players Grundy, Coniglio, Shiel and Ellis. WXV debutant Callum M Brown (9) was not prepared for the occasion, fed to the Mexico City Wolves.

It was a helluva season Beijing, who did it without arguably its most famous player for much of the season in Brodie Grundy. No doubt we'll see them here again in 2023.

Wow!

The most anticipated clash of the round was definitely the most interesting! The game was delicately poised at HT of the Sunday twilight match, with PNL Captain struggling with approximately 35-40 points. Rome looked like they were going to hold on!

But Zerrett rose to the occasion, producing a captains knock - scoring about 100SC points in the 2nd half! The margin blew out which didn't do the contest justice, but it was a mighty fine score and win for PNL!

For Rome... what a week to produce your lowest score of the year! 2022 was an amazing success - despite perhaps under achieving - finishing 7th with the most points scored is a far cry from finishing 2nd last in 2021. The upward trajectory is clear: Rome will be back for bigger and better things in 2023, clearly benefitting from the re-location from Moscow!

A big win for Alexandria, whom defeated the 15-2 Wolves with 11 players vs 9. An injured Taylor Adams was a late in for Shane Edwards, but it mattered not thanks to Kamdyn McIntosh (110) heroics and a bunch of others saluting with 70+ scores!
