Round 6

IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ

AFL teams will be announcing their teams at 6:20pm AEST on Thursday (Wednesday for Thursday night games)

We will be using a partial lockout, please read the rule below.

You are encouraged to name your full team at the start of the round and edit accordingly as teams drop each day. I understand this is not possible for everyone, hence why it would be preferred that people name their full team to begin with.

If you make any edits to your team, please do so in a new 'quote' post.

There is no loopholing allowed in ADT

- Because of the official change to the way the AFL teams are announced you can name six (6) emergencies this year.

- In the event a coach either submits an incomplete team or fails to submit a team at all, they will receive a warning/strike and their submission from last week will be used.

Friday night FULL LOCKOUT at 7.50pm AEST

Round 6 - Senators a Couple Votes Points Short

Guadalajara (1503) defeated by Springfield (1696)

Springfield finally win a game! Properly anyway, comfortably disposing of Guadalajara who let their colours down today at home in the fight to keep touch with the top 4, as both teams now sit squarely in the midtable with an even ledger. Lyons (128) did all he could, with support from Steele (110) and Keays (102) as usual, but the Pirates were let down by Foley (25) who failed to outscore medisub Hind (48), with the forwards also disappointing. For Springfield it was about sending a reminder that they were a top 4 side last season and are back in the thick of things with their HGA wins holding the line as they found some form. O'Brien [SE] (145.2) (121) stepped up big time and Springfield are lucky they packed him so much, while Laird (110) was solid as captain, though it might be time to give Rachele (40) a rest as without his point boost he's off pace from the rest of the side. Time for one of the emerglenka's to get a shot? Springfield on the up, while Guadalajara are on a bit of a slide.

Washington (1690) defeated by Calgary (1699)

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Washington top last weeks effort with another highest score, but still fall short, this time to Calgary by a measly 9 points. It's another crushing blow for Washington who are undeservedly 0-6 now and any hope at finals dissipated one would think. Yeo was the culprit, falling to injury and dishing up 18 for HGA. Another 5 points and Washington were home! but alas... Libba (127) and Cripps (123) led the line with Gawn (119) again delivering and forgotten prospect Connor Rozee (119) reminding us of his existence. For Calgary Houston (134) and Witherden (117) mopped up down back while robbed Anzac medallist Parish (114) racked up the elite handballs to send Calgary over, though if it wasn't for captain Petracca (76) having a night off it would have been over a long time ago.

Los Angeles (1603) defeated by Dallas (1825)

The most anticipated match of the season thus far, with the two top teams battling it out for supremacy, and Dallas walks away the victors! Dallas now 2 games clear of the Kings, who drop to 3rd on the ladder after losing two games in a row. Port pair Aliir (33) and Butters (34) dished up some filth as Aliir scores lowest for the second week running, perhaps he would have been dropped if the coach was around? Elsewhere, Blues duo Docherty (121) and Hewett (115) and Brayshaw (116) carry on, though Taranto (65) was disappointing as captain. 1600 is not a bad score, but it was nowhere near enough to best Dallas who keep on smashing out massive totals, their third above 1800 this season, this time off the back of the star trio of Mills (162) Oliver (129) and Walsh (117) though everyone save Fisher (39) posted a decent score. Is there any team that can match Dallas this season?

Hawaii (1598) defeated by Arizona (1711)

The answer might be found here. Arizona go second on the ladder with this victory over their rivals, though it has come at a cost. Grundy (105) was back to form, but will now miss up to 12 weeks with a PCL injury, a big blow, though mitigated by having Darcy waiting in the wings. Short (127) racked up the kick-ins while Dunkley (138) racked up everything. But these scores were countered by McKay (23) and Hately (39) as once again Arizona tease at their full potential this season. For Hawaii it's a tough but expected loss. Losing Dangerfield didn't help matters, but once again the struggling midfield failed to fire though Vlastuin (131) and Broad (108) followed Short's example and racked up the ball down back.

El Paso (1578) defeated by Bermuda (1640)

Bermuda are now breathing down the necks of LA for third spot, as it's a clean sweep for away teams this round! Tuohy (125) was immense as Geelong carved up North and Boak (117) was back in touch though Himmelberg (38) will be sweating on his spot. For El Paso it was another disappointing display with 5 scores under 50, but Dale (126) was big, and Merrett (115) made a shock return after his syndesmosis injury and didn't miss a beat, though naming Phillips was an interesting decision. Not much to say here, the better team won and El Paso will need to get in form soon before Washington finally get a win and go above them
