RUC: Max Gawn (C)
FWD: Lachie Whitfield (M/F) (EVC), Gary Ablett Jr, Jordan De Goey, Jade Gresham (M/F)

UTILITY: Luke Dunstan (M), Darcy Tucker (M/F), Hamish Hartlett (D)

EMERGENCIES: Bayley Fritsch (F), Zach Tuohy (D), Ben Long (F), Charlie Cameron (F - SUB)

IN: Luke Dunstan

OUT: Bayley Fritsch

Coach's Presser: Most of the boys would be worried after their performances last round, but they're all in the 18 for a reason. The chances of Dunstan coming back for the Saints are slim, but he would be an instant inclusion for us if he does. Meanwhile it's hard to justify dropping Hammer after his performance against the Dockers, and Tucker's quietly putting up a decent season so far. This leaves Fritta, coming off no game last round, as the unfortunate one to get dropped from the side.
(But he'll be back in when Dunstan isn't named once again :o)

No changes to the side

Coach's Presser: Well as expected, Dunstan is still in Purgatory at the Saints (heh), so Fritta comes back into the side after originally being omitted for no real reason. Battle takes his place in the emergencies.

Colorado Avalanche 16.11.107 lost to Houston Bombers 19.6.120
(Real: 1604 vs 1806)

Houston: James Aish subbed on for Jack Ziebell
Colorado: Tom Cutler replaced by Paul Ahern

Probably a little closer than Houston would have liked, but solid performances from their two co-captains, and perhaps their next one in Jarrod Berry, guided them to a very respectable score as they consolidate themselves at 3-0 on the ladder. Could they be the surprise packet of 2020?

Meanwhile, Colorado back up last week's absolute dreamboat with a very respectable score given their current personnel issues. Is this finally the season of change after 2 years of rebuilding? Is Matt Rowell the second coming of Christ? Is Brad Ebert the sexiest man alive? Who knows!

Best
Houston: Jarrod Berry, Mitch Robinson, Shane Edwards, Dan Butler, Jack Crisp, Michael Walters
Colorado: Jarrod Witts, Jy Simpkin, Brayden Maynard, Matthew Rowell, Brad Ebert, Robbie Tarrant

Quito Quetzals 20.9.129 defeated Ottawa Otters 14.10.94
(Real: 1929 vs 1408)

Quito: David Swallow subbed on for Nick Vlastuin
Ottawa: Ben Cunnington and Paddy Ryder replaced by Laitham Vandermeer and Samuel Collins. Myles Poholke subbed on for Ben McEvoy

Oh dear... Ottawa's poor season continues, getting absolutely thrashed by the reigning premiers. Admittedly 2 late withdrawals didn't help their chances, but Dixon and Marshall were the only two performances in what was otherwise a pretty poor turnout. Where to next from here?

It was conversely, a nice all-round performance from Quito with few real standouts, which will please the coach significantly. 5 tons from the midfield meant they were always going to put up a great score this week.

Best
Quito: Hugh McCluggage, Shaun Higgins, James Worpel, Ed Curnow, Callum Mills, Jack Bowes, Nick Haynes
Ottawa: Charlie Dixon, Rowan Marshall

Carolina Panthers 20.10.130 defeated Chicago Sharks 18.8.116
(Real: 1956 vs 1744)

Carolina: Cam Ellis-Yolmen subbed on for Brody Mihocek
Chicago: Cam Guthrie subbed on for Jack Darling

Chicago probably have reason to feel a little unlucky running into Carolina this week, who had 2 of the top 3 SC scorers, and both of their captains going 120+ as well. Just one of those weeks I think. The rest of Carolina admittedly didn't do a whole lot, and will look to bounce back as a collective next week.

For Chicago, they probably had one of the most useful subs in recent times, with Guthrie giving them an extra 120 points after coming on for Darling. It was a reasonable team performance, but the bench could probably be singled out for not contributing to the required standard. Also, what has happened to Elliot Yeo?  :o

Best
Carolina: Sam Docherty, Marcus Bontempelli, Brodie Grundy, Josh Kelly, Sam Menegola, Tim Kelly
Chicago: Cam Guthrie, Luke Parker, James Sicily, Andrew Gaff, Clayton Oliver

Las Vegas Sinners 17.12.114 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 16.12.108
(Real: 1709 vs 1627)

Las Vegas: Nic Newman replaced by Darcy Moore
Anaheim: Luke Brown subbed on for Tom Bellchambers

Anaheim slip to 0-4 in absolute scenes coming out of Nevada, they will be left to rue a poor captain decision as they wonder whether the door for finals is now shut, which is a crazy statement to make about a team of their calibre. Next week won't get any easier either, as they'll have to do it without Zach Merrett.

Las Vegas did well despite their coaches absence, with solid contributors pretty much everywhere. Coach SR will probably owe Tim  English a beer once he returns from his hiatus.

Best
Las Vegas: Tim English, Tom Mitchell, Jarryd Lyons, Brad Sheppard, Jake Lloyd
Anaheim: Patrick Dangerfield, Jordan Ridley, Trent Cotchin

Wisconsin Cockerels 19.11.125 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 17.13.115
(Real: 1872 vs 1727)

Wisconsin: Charlie Cameron subbed on for Bayley Fritsch
New Brooklyn: Jack Higgins and Jake Lever replacing Sam Jacobs and Matthew Crouch. Tim Membrey subbed on for Ben Brown

Danger game for Wisconsin that they handled well, not too much went wrong from a New Brooklyn standpoint, although the blame would squarely be on Patrick Cripps putting in a poor captains performance. Wisconsin just had fewer passengers, cracking game!

Toby Nankervis though?!?!?!!  :o

Best
Wisconsin: Max Gawn, Adam Saad, Mitch Duncan, Luke Shuey, Caleb Daniel, Jack Billings, Touk Miller
New Brooklyn: Toby Nankervis, Tim Membrey, Jack Steele, Angus Brayshaw, Jack Higgins, Brad Crouch, Tom Papley

San Francisco Grizzles 14.9.93 lost to Boston Terriers 19.10.124
(Real: 1403 vs 1853)

San Francisco: Nil
Boston: Cameron Zurhaar subbed on for Oscar McInerney

Not a great week from the Grizzles unfortunately. Not much to speak of across the board in terms of performances outside of the usual stuff from Taylor Adams. Stephen Coniglio's form would be worrying for the coach, while they didn't even use their sub this week as Eddie Betts couldn't even outscore the injured Tom Stewart!

The usual sort of game from Boston, carried by the usual suspects. This team is going to be incredibly scary come the pointy end of the year given the form of some of their top liners, and even their new guard coming through in Parfitt. Great solid win.

Best
San Francisco: Taylor Adams, Jasper Pittard, Jed Anderson
Boston: Scott Pendlebury, Lachie Neale, Chad Wingard, Todd Goldstein, Jeremy Howe, Brodie Smith, Brandon Parfitt, Joel Selwood
