Las Vegas Sinners 18.8.116 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 17.11.113
(Real: 1742 vs 1692)

Very good win by the Sinners to deny Anaheim any chance of the home qualifying final (unless Wisconsin lose by 1000 points), despite missing several key stars (Fyfe and Franklin the main ones). Anaheim looked set to fluke another W, but the trio of English, Gresham, and Carlisle came home strong to guide the Sinners to the victory that will see them tie with Anaheim on wins, but stay behind on %. Lyons was the pick of the players over the weekend with a huge 165, while Merrett presses his claim for a captaincy chance come finals time.

Best
Las Vegas: Lyons, Lloyd, Harmes, Gresham
Anaheim: Merrett, Brown, Dangerfield, MacPherson, Mundy

Boston Terriers 19.9.123 lost to Wisconsin Cockerels 19.10.124
(Real: 1858 vs 1862)

Skin of their teeth victory by the Cockerels to confirm the minor premiership, as, like with Las Vegas, they absolutely came home with a wet sail as Macrae, Billings, and Dunstan - the only non-sub players for either side - each tonned up to claim the win in a very high scoring game. Not always wise to point fingers at players who just missed out on a ton, but Neale as captain couldn't drag his side over the line - the good news for Boston, however, is that they had qualified for finals either way, so good on them.

Best
Boston: Sheed, Smith, Darling, Goldstein, Sidebottom, Redden
Wisconsin: Gawn, Duncan, Miller, Fritsch, Whitfield, Macrae, Billings, Dunstan, Zorko

Quito Quetzals 20.7.127 defeated Ottawa Otters 20.6.126
(Real: 1900 vs 1888)

An even higher scoring affair here, as Quito essentially book their spot in the finals with a very good score. Ottawa may have lost this game and fallen to 7-10, but they haven't lost any fans today or this season as they've improved massively (as have Quito obviously), with both being lead superbly by surprise (as at 01.01.2019) leaders and guns Reilly and Rowan.

Best
Quito: O'Brien, Cameron, Dunkley, Curnow, Greene
Ottawa: Marshall, Shiels, McEvoy, Taranto, Cunnington

New Brooklyn Hawks 14.14.98 lost to Carolina Panthers 15.13.103
(Real: 1483 vs 1539)

And end to the regular season to forget for both teams, and definitely an anti-climax after the last few matches. With basically a winner-plays-finals scenario, both teams crumbled a bit under pressure, especially the captains with Bontempelli, Cripps and Crouch failing to register a ton - but Carolina VC Brodie Grundy did which was the difference in the end, although they'll have to improve back to their high scoring best that we all know they have starting next week! The Hawks have had a lot of high highs (topping the table outright) and low lows (a stretch of very poor scores to end the season), but they'll definitely be looking to bounce up the ladder in 2020 and they certainly have the potential to do it.

Best
Brooklyn: Crouch, Houli
Carolina: Grundy, Ryan, Martin, Amon

San Francisco Grizzlies 15.7.97 "defeated" Colorado Avalanche 13.9.87
(Real: 1461 vs 1304)

Yikes, not a game to remember that's for sure and it makes the game above it look like a classic. Colorado have a poor end to a season that started to look promising with a win over Chicago and pushing Carolina all the way, while San Francisco can correctly (non-bias) rue injuries for their 2019 campaign. Let's all just forget this game happened and push on to 2020.

Best
San Francisco: Martin, Williams
Colorado: Wright

Chicago Sharks 15.16.106 defeated Houston Bombers 14.14.98
(Real: 1592 vs 1474)

I guess we should expect games like these from the bottom bracket of the competition, in a disappointing end to two disappointing seasons that started with a lot of promise. Chicago's depth was definitely tested due to injuries late in the season, causing a lot of very poor scores from their rucks, forwards, and utilities - their midfield being a shining light. They were right up there in the finals standings for a fair while before stuttering late season - including a loss to Colorado - but at least they got the win to end things with their Dees trio of Oliver, Salem, and Angus Brayshaw's superior brother leading the way. Houston obviously have talent (see: 2018 season and finals), but also rued injuries and runs of individual poor form. To 2020!

Best
Chicago: Oliver, Salem, Brayshaw, Yeo, Parker
Houston: Walters
