Wingard has officially requested a trade to Hawthorn

Hawks have offered 2.5M over 4 years

Burton being a South Australian obviously may be pissed at Hawthorn but gets a chance to go home.

Hawthorn get the midfielder they desperately need.

classic Port, trading a bloke who doesn't wanna be at Alberton for a bloke who doesn't wanna be at Alberton

AaronKirk

Who hypothetically would want Ryan Burton and give Port that high pick that they want to the package to the Suns to get 2 and 3?

Maybe Burton doesn't end up at Port Adelaide. Maybe another club with a top 10 pick would like Burton then Port get that pick and Hawthorn's other first rounder for Wingard.

They Port then trade up the order and take Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine in the draft who they definitely want.

Suns aren't trading 2 and 3

The last paragraph from Brisbane may be the cause of some of the rumour.

"BRISBANE says a report linking Dayne Beams to Collingwood is re-heated soup and it has heard nothing from the player or the Magpies about a potential trade.

When the latest rumours linking Beams back to Collingwood broke the Lions made contact with his manager, Paul Connors, who assured the club Beams had not spoken to him about requesting a trade.

However, his stated position with Brisbane in meetings with CEO Greg Swann and football manager David Noble was that he would not ask to be traded, but if the club identified a deal it was interested in, he would be happy to return before his contract expired."

That's a steal in terms of trade value. Probably paying him overs in salary though.

Bill Manspeaker
