So prior to the Freo-Carlton scores,

Houston: 1621 add Simpson, Murphy, and Walters
Las Vegas: 1714

So with the 3/4 time Freo-Carlton scores, Houston are up to 1837 so safe to say this game is over. Houston will meet Wisconsin in the grand final!

I'll have the full and final scores and write-up after the Freo-Carlton game.

Preliminary Final: Houston Bombers vs Las Vegas Sinners

Houston Bombers 20.7.127 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 17.12.114
(Real: 1899 vs 1714)

This was a reasonably close contest, with the exception of one man and one score - Jack Riewoldt (219). The best on ground by an absolute country mile and delivered the Bombers their first grand final birth. Not to take anything away from their other centurions of course - Heeney was good and made his claim for mark of the year, but Riewoldt's brilliance took away from a few weak spots such as Tuohy and Greenwood twin-50s, their four emergencies only scoring 142 combined points, and not having a ruck so having to have Macmillan play there OOP - but it didn't matter in the end as they got home comfortably. Lloyd was the best for the Sinners, but without Fyfe they were always going to be pressed for wins every week, and their, and Captain/Barometer Tom Mitchell (102), luck ran out - with a poor forward line and only one ton in the midfield enough to push them out of the finals - but at a very respectable third spot.

Best
Houston: Riewoldt, Heeney, Crisp, Sloane, Edwards, Langford, Beams
Las Vegas: Lloyd, McGrath, Newman, Harmes, Mitchell, Daw

Houston Bombers advance to the Grand Final.
Las Vegas Sinners will pick 10th in the draft.
Finals Champion: Jack Riewoldt (Houston)

Did houston name a team?

Hard to win when our form is so patchy and you come up against a big 200+ score (at least he wasnt captain!)

Nope, in the end it didn't cost them (only really one change would've been made in Dawson Simpson out) but yeah it's tough to win when the oppo has a huge/outlier score like that.

Ironically, in Houston's last big win (over Wisconsin earlier in the season) that made me say wow nice, everybody else scored great while Riewoldt was injured on 3. Swings and roundabouts...
