Might be a difficult question to get a correct answer too, possibly a stupid one...

But does anyone know the average scoring totals per round this season compared to previous?

I'm sitting around the ~22,000 total points mark as it stands right now, and whilst I'm well down on my usual standard, the overall leaders are at about ~23,500 which still feels extremely low.

It seems almost every team spent big money on players like Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Billings and Goldstein who have been somewhat underwhelming where as guys like Macrae and Grundy completely slipped under the radar of most teams and are almost at the point where its impossible to get them in without having glaring deficiencies in other areas of the team.

I wouldn't know how to work it out, but it just feel like the average scores are A LOT less this season both overall and weekly.

Scroll down on the home page of SC and you can see your results for the last 4-5 years, week by week scoring, overall rank etc

This time last year my total was 21,806 which had me ranked 1,343 overall

This year same time now I am 21,901 and ranked 15,873!!

Go figure  :-\

Compare your rank with the last 2 years in the team history section of the site, because it is actually the complete opposite to what you are suggesting.

Scores are massive this season, with the same rank last season having around 800 less points.

Without having the definitive statistics in front of me, there is a significant chance 23,473 is the biggest score ever achieved after Round 10.

Just wondering whether history is accurate when looking at RD

At end of RD 10 last year was on 21385 with an overall ranking 9079 ( maybe correct with numbers playing but does around 400 points equate to arround 7000 places)

Rd 10 this year 22,251 total points and ranking 5668.  This indicates to me average scoring is a lot higher this year as again using RD as base 450 more scored than his base but still 4000 places below.

PowerBug

The points were gained early in the season from what I saw. From about Rd 4 I was noticing that this year was a higher scoring year, haven't really looked since to see if the gap has increased further or whether it's stayed the same.

Gigantor

Definitely higher scoring this year, below is what the #1 ranked team was on last year compared to this year

247524996
371117335

Well there you go! LOL

I'll shut the flower up now

Edit: I just checked I'm 125 points better this year than at the same point last year, where I was about rank 500 or so last year, this year I'm 12500 lol

Round 11, 2017: 21,618 points / rank 3,548.
Round 11, 2018: 22,533 points / rank 1,726.

This suggests to me that this year is a higher scoring year. Perhaps by 700-800 points, or 70-80 points per round.
