Unfortunately, NRich is unable to continue as coach of the Hong Kong Dongs. When one door shuts, another door opens.

The Dongs are currently in a rebuild with season 2018 shaping as very important. The team does however have a good young core of players and with multiple early picks for this season's national and rookie drafts, will only build on this.

Current Hong Kong Squad:

Def: T. Sheridan (Fre), S. Mayes (Bris), L. Dunn (Coll), W. Schofield (WC), J. Weitering (Carl), D. Byrne-Jones (Port), D. Gardiner (Bris), L. Dawson (Bris), N. Jetta (Melb), K. Collins (WB), O. Mcdonald (Melb), K. Brand (Haw), D. Nielson (NM)

Mid: M. Robinson (Bris), K. Stevens (StK), R. Bastinac (Bris), B. Hartung (Haw), M. Hallahan, J. Grant, J. Dunkley (WB), G. Hewett (Syd), C. Menadue (Rich), C. Wagner (NM), J. Schoenfield (GC), J. Bowes (GC), M. Lewis (Hawk)

Ruck: S. Martin (Bris), T. Bellchambers (Ess), M. Eagles (Bris), O. McInerney (Bris), E. Ratugolea (Geel)

Fwd: R. Conca (Rich), L. Taylor (Bris), S. McKernan (Ess), T. Colyer (Ess), J. Redpath (WB), C. Curnow (Carl), J. Lamb (Carl), K. Amon (Port), B. Hardwick (Haw), W. Buzza (Geel), A. Johnson (Port), T. Marshall (Port), B. Long (Stk), J. Silvagni (Carl)

National Draft picks : 1, 3 (priority pick), 19, 35, 51, 67
Rookie Draft picks: 1, 17, 33, 49, 65

Post your applications below. The Application period for this team will close on Sunday 16th October at 6pm. All applicants will then be put to a vote.

Thanks

Would link/crosspost this to the discussion threads in other comps for max visibility.

Interesting list to work with so I hope someone takes on the challenge.

I will need to do later as lunch is over. Feel free to post and share to the other comps if anyone has time.

Atto

Hey guys, putting in an application to be a coach of the HKD, obviously.

The name is Atto, usually active in the Americas DT (where I am an admin) and Euro competitions and the primary reason for applying for this rather average team is because this team is similar to my other teams, in particular, the Euros team. So instead of having different teams with different goals, I will have different teams with the same goals.

As Nige said, it is an interesting list to work with but I have done an overhaul of the Swedish Metal in EXV and now hopefully with a bunch of young guys in the team we can only go up from here. I will aim to do the same with Hong Kong, which, despite its averageness does have some young blokes in the team who can improve and with picks 1 and 3 in the national draft already that will be further emphasised.

I look forward to potentially trading with those in AXV!

Great to see an excellent application already !!

Can someone give me a quick summary of the different rules in AXV as apposed to WXV? Like is there a limit on how many players you can trade etc?

Can do. :)

No 'salary cap' in AXV.

Trade Period 1 (before draft) can have 10 movements maximum (10 players in, 10 players out, not 10 movements in total, picks do not count as movements.)

Trade Period 2 (after draft) same principle, but 5 instead of 10.

Trades do not have to be 1 for 1. Trades are looked at and approved/denied by the 2 man admin team (nas/Rids), usually after some discussion with coaches involved.

We've just abolished the rookie lists, so list sizes are 46. No limit on how many you need to cut etc. or how many picks you need to take.

Captains score 200% of their match score, Vice Captains 150%. Scoring system is similar to DT but rewards goals, tacklers, wingers who M + K, and players with a high K to H ratio.

Kicks - 4
HB - 2
Mark - 4
Tackle - 6
Goal - 12
Behind - 1
FK for - 1
FK against -3

Thanks Koop :)

The limit on player movements is a killer. I would have applied and traded/delisted about 38 of the guys on that list but the limitation makes the challenge much less appealing.

Good luck to whoever gets the job.

Good luck trying to find suitors for about 30 of the players on the list :P

Applications will close at 6pm Canberra time this afternoon. If anyone knows someone that might be interested, then it would be worth reminding them of the deadline.

Note: Atto is the only applicant so far and if that remains to be the case, then a vote won't be required.

As Atto was the only applicant, there will not be a need to have a vote. Welcome to Atto as the new coach of the Hong Kong Dongs!
