Again,  could just be irrationally angry, but I don't find BBL or Fast4 tennis fun to watch. These formats invite amateurs and players that can get away with a shorter format of the game, and dilute the image of the game IMO. The same is expected of aflx.

This^

It's interesting to look at how the shorter formats of different sports change the skill base required for the sport. BBL for instance really lends itself to an entirely different skill set than test cricket. Fast4 however still requires more or less the same skills as a 5 set tennis match, just less endurance. I definitely agree with the point on diluting the image of the game.

It'll be fascinating to see what kind of players are successful at AFLX. I get the feeling it'll be players who can play quick attacking football and kick the ball long. I don't see defensive skills playing a big part in the game at all.

I can’t believe how much they think the AFLW is a success and they don’t charge for it but they are charging for this crap. Biggest load of BS

Suspect we will see charging for AFLW from next year though. For the AFLX cost though is for the day so for 3 games.
I am reserving my final opinion until I see a couple of games but at the moment hard to get excited by playing a game on a 110 yard rectangular field. Can see some backs kicking goals from inside own half.

Football Factory

I haven't even been curious about this comp, leave footy alone.

Bill Manspeaker

meh. it's footy. I'll give it a crack

Playing with a silver ball will mean spuds like Goldsack and Goldstein won't be very good.
