Carolina Panthers 22.7.139 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 18.10.118
(Real: 2088 vs 1776)

Might not have been the closest of scores, but a very good game with two respectable scores - one obviously more respectable than the other. Patton surprised as BOG, followed by the Panthers midfield brigade of Shiel, Bont, JPK, Menegola, and Dusty. Captain and VC Crouch and Cripps put up good scores but, with a few passengers in the side, it was never going to be enough.

Best
Carolina: Patton, Shiel, Bontempelli, Kennedy, Menegola, Martin, Docherty, Henderson, Johnson
New Brooklyn: P. Cripps, M. Crouch, Sidebottom, Houli, Weller, Talia

Las Vegas Sinners 14.14.98 lost to Boston Terriers 17.10.112
(Real: 1466 vs 1679)

Far below average/expected performances by both teams in a game that will hopefully be forgotten, especially with both teams needing wins at the moment. Joel Selwood's injury was obviously a big dampener on the Terrier score despite Robbie Gray heroics, while the Sinners were pretty average across the board - high score of 101 and Garlett's 14 were costly.

Best
Las Vegas: Mitchell, Lloyd
Boston: Gray, Pendlebury, Dahlhaus, Gibbs, Sheed, Martin

Ottawa Otters 18.9.117 defeated Quito Quetzals 13.12.90
(Real: 1753 vs 1344)

Wow, two massive opposite stories here. Ottawa scored very nicely on the back of half-a-dozen tons and minimal passengers. Meanwhile, Quito had a meltdown and could only manage 1344/90 - where do I start? Haynes 25, Curnow 58, Rich 49, Swallow 58, ANB 54, Lynch 39, Breust 24, Towers 43, and Barrett 32 were all massive letdowns - those 9 players you'd usually imagine to combine for something like 700 points pessimistically, not 382!

Best
Ottawa: Cunnington, McGovern, Shiels, Wood, Grigg, McLean
Quito: Cameron, Mills, Higgins

FLOWERING HELL (directed at my frustrating side)

Congratulations to Jay on the nail-biting victory - with Beams going down on 6 we really should have won it. But while your other players stood up, my players demonstrated why I don't trust them  :-[

On a brighter note, promising debuts from Witherden and Darcy makes me confident I've picked a good crop for the future
