Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick to lead host Real Madrid to a commanding 3-0 win over Atlético Madrid on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal.

Real Madrid this season, the Champions League 7 wins and 3 draw unbeaten, including knockout 4 war with Jie. 27 Champions League semi-final home only 3 times lost, nearly 5 semi-final home 4 wins and 1 level. Nearly seven times against Europe and Europe against opponents unbeaten.

Even without Gareth Bale, who was out injured, Real took it to their city rival once again in Europe's biggest competition. Facing Atleti for the fourth consecutive Champions League, all of which have seen Real eliminate Atletico, history looks to repeat itself as the hosts carry what looks like an insurmountable lead into next week's second leg.

Ronaldo now has his sights set on another final, having become the first man since Robert Lewandowski in 2012-13 to achieve complete domination of a semi-final clash.

Ronaldo helped Madrid to Champions League glory last season and also claimed the crown in 2013-14, with Atletico overcome in the final on both occasions.

Cristiano Ronaldo 'glad to have reached 400 Real Madrid goals'... but official records show he's still on 399

Ronaldo believed the goals took him to 400 for Real, but there is some doubt about that figure.

'I'm glad to have reached 400 goals,' said the striker after the game, as he joined the illustrious club of having hit a quadruple-century of strikes for one club.

The problem is, that official records show Ronaldo on 399 Real Madrid goals, not 400.
