I'm just looking at premium mids at the moment and one guy no one is really talking about is Joel Selwood. The only news I have really heard about him this pre-season is he lost his license. He is in about 4.8% of teams, has averaged over 110 7 of the last 8 years and is flying under the radar as a POD. He has a nice bye R12 which is another positive.

What are people's thoughts on him?

Rarely starts the season well, under the best of circumstances.

Could be an intriguing POD though

You just can't fit everybody in you want had him in a couple of weeks ago until mid rookies started looking scarce , I reckon he is the hardest man in footy and will get him back if rookies allow

That's generally been the knock on him and he was slow the first couple of rounds last season, however once he and Danger got going after a couple of weeks he scored big. Every mid tends to have a dip at some point, I was just surprised at the lack of talk around him.

With only North, Richmond, Geelong and West Coast on bye in round 12 he seems like an ideal guy to target. Apart from Danger, none of those teams have super elite mids that you are going to want to start or end your team with. Guys like Priddis/Martin you might pick up if they have an injury game and come cheap, but none of the other guys scream lock in the mdifield.

Just looked at his season starts as for starting slow maybe a bit of a myth 2015- 112 , 69 , 110 , 154 , 84 , 83 a touch slow
2016 - 105 , 70 , 138 , 100 , 144 , 138 , 130  looks ok to me  ;)

Was just about to post 118 average for first 7 rounds last year not slow. He did however return scores of 69,72,82 for Rds 8, 9, 10.
Just trying to decide whether to take the super consistent Priddis or ride the Selwood roller coaster. Both have the Rd 12 bye.

The one guy I didn't want to see a thread about

Have had him for ages - that round 12 bye is beautiful too

Lol every year that myth is raised and every year the stats show its bs

Please delete this thread Mat, I'd like to keep his ownership under 5%

I'd go Jelwood over Priddis for sure

Like who?

Tmac, Simmo and Jelwood were my POD's this year. Jelwood still is, the other two are in the mix pending structure

I always like to start a mid or two that's under 10% ownership

I can over-exaggerate if I so choose :P

Tbh any defender that you pick will be somewhat of a POD though, as there's so many to pick haha ;D
