Initial thoughts are that it might be a year too early, but at the same time I think Viney is the type of guy to still go about his footy in exactly the same way regardless of his position at the club

Yeah I had similar thoughts. Viney was always going to be the next captain of our club, I just didn't think it needed to be this year, or even next year. Whilst I probably would have preferred Jones to go solo for a little while longer, it definitely isn't a bad call and I could see it elevating Viney's game, rather than seeing a repeat of the Grimes/Trengove reign.
