WXVW World Idol Update: Round 1

Poor Cassowaries, gone from a competition they didn't even know existed until they were out of it.
With a score of 585, Port Moresby have been eliminated from the Inaugural WXVW World Idol.

In the firing line: Jakarta Dragons

Leading all comers after two weeks, Koop's undefeated Algerian Antelopes will be a tough task for Port Moresby this week.
The Cassowaries are really struggling, still yet to crack the 600 mark for a weekly score.
Lima are the competition's second lowest scorer with 1295 at this point, but have nestled in at 5th with a nice percentage.
Jakarta top-scored for the week with 730, but travel to Bogota to face the undefeated Margays.
Levi's Margays have been remarkably consistent over the first two weeks (711 and 708) and league the lead by points scored.
Barcelona sit on the tail of the two undefeated sides, and will be looking for an opening in the Top 2.
The Karachi Rhinos also await, trailing Barcelona by percentage.
And you've got to feel for Rome, one of the best scorers in the competiton, but are still yet to get a win on the board. Unlucky.

WXVW World Idol Update: Round 2

They're doing fine on the ladder side of things, but the Lima Llamas leave us in Round 2 of the World Idol.
Scoring 604 in Round 2, Coach Ziplock will now have their sights set on snagging a spot in the Top 2.

Barcelona are riding a wave of luck, still with less than 2000 points scored against. You'd expect a big score from their undefeated opponents Algeria this week though. There were positive signs out of Port Moresby last week, but they remain in last place, and facing Jakarta this week, they may still be without a win. Bogota are the highest scoring team in the competition, but cannot sneak into top spot after some close matches each week. Their 2161 points against is bettered only by Jakarta with 2182. Lima mysteriously have identical points for and against, and join Barcelona with two wins and one loss. After an underwhelming score of 600 last week, Rome are in danger of being overtaken by a rising Port Moresby. Karachi are also still in with a chance of finals, having the third highest total points for.

WXVW World Idol Update: Round 3

The Goddesses couldn't handle the Lynx last weekend, so with a score of just 600, Rome depart the WXVW World Idol. Despite this, I'm sure the board and club supporters remain solely focused on getting 4 points on the board, approaching the halfway mark of the season.

Some segregation appearing in the ladder! Bogota and Algeria didn't score too well this week, but did enough to hold off their respective opponents and maintain their unbeaten record. Meanwhile, Karachi and Jakarta lead the pack on two wins as the first and second highest scoring teams respectively. Rome and Port Moresby remain winless, with Rome close to cracking the 3000 mark for points against. Barcelona and Lima could also make the main dance, but would probably need to improve their percentages. Speaking of percentage, Karachi have amassed a whopping 110.26%, after putting up big scores and avoiding being on the receiving end. With another low score against this week, Algeria remain the least scored against side, with 2655 points against.

WXVW World Idol Update: Round 4

The firing line has claimed its first victim! Flirting with danger with the second lowest score last week, Barcelona have fallen out of WXVW World Idol contention with a score of 647 in Round 4. Perhaps this was linked to the lack of coaching and general support.

In the firing line: Algerian Antelopes

Levi434

Unfortunately Algeria failed to name a team by the deadline last week. Unfortunatley for them this was not the first time and has resulted in a 2 point deduction.

Algeria officially lose 2 points.

@FTC if you could please reflect these changes in the ladder. And thanks to Koop for understanding.

*Algeria received a 2 point deduction in Round 5

Momentum is building against Algeria, who also received a 2 point deduction this round, however, it is unlikely to impact their finishing position as they have the lowest percentage in the Top 4. 6 Points separate Jakarta, Karachi and Bogota in terms of total weekly scoring, in what is a fantastic representation of how the three have been consistently putting up the top numbers. It is really a shame that only two can make the main dance. Algeria will be desperate to cling to their Top 2 spot, but haven't scored as heavily as the other three teams. Rome opened their account this week, and could potentially move into 5th spot before the competiton is over, while Port Moresby would seem unlikely to score a victory this season. Lima and Barcelona are tied with two wins a piece, with Lima moving up a spot this week thanks to percentage.

WXVW World Idol Update: Round 5

Two weeks in a row, the firing line has hit the mark. Algeria drop out of the WXVW World Idol after putting up just 658 points this week. Algeria have a more pressing issue though, hanging on to that Top 2 spot!

Jakarta jump in front of Algeria, and, with a big win, finished with a larger percentage than Karachi. They secure a grand final pairing with the undefeated Bogota, who have looked good all season. Coach Nige won't be happy to miss the main dance by %, but can take some satisfaction in knowing that his Rhinos outscored Bogota over the season. The Antelopes will be disappointed with their drop-off after such a strong start. Lima should be pleased with their 3-3 result, including a win over grand-finalists Jakarta. Rome didn't really have things go their way this season, with star Moana Hope failing to meet expectations. Port Moresby will be disappointed to have gone through a season with donuts, but came very close to stealing 4 points from Algeria. Barcelona finish with 2 wins, but unfortunately for their players, no one cares  :'(
