Hungary v Serbia

Geez this is a monster moment, coach Holz left Serbian when they were basically invincible despite still never winning a flag. He left to the lowly Dutch Dinos but now Hungarian Hulks. Nrich took over a great list but he has had the task of keeping the most dominant XV team ever to not win a flag. Treloar v Pendles pretty much sums up this matchup, Hungary the up  and coming team, Serbia the team that has been great every year, who will win it. Serbia has a few missing and Hungary has lids missing in forward line. Hungary has the ruck edge with Goldy leaving the club to join Hungary and should put in a big effort against his old club. Serbia is lead by former Hungarian parker with Pendles and the superstar of the comp in Dustin Martin, Holz knows this team backwards with over half the squad players he has picked so will know how they tick. The Serbian defense when on is a powerhouse of the competition with Shaw Simpson Boyd. Hungary has alot of holes in the backline and fwd line but is lead in the middle by former Serbian Gibbs and superstars Treloar and JPK. Geez Serbia would have the edge, but in Hungary with a history of bad luck in finals who knows.

Greece v Russia

Greece was amazing round 1 of the finals and Russia amazing round 2. both teams can put up monster numbers. The scary thing is how young greece is, they are lead in the middle by break out ruckman Max Gawn who is tapping it down to Hanners, Sidey,Conigs, Scully. They are vulnerable as everyone but their midfield is capable of having bad games, so this will be something the coach will want to avoid. For Russia they are used to being here, one of the most succesfull teams ever is looking a little old with the likes of enright, burgoyne, doge, monty, griffen so will want to make the most of their opportunity. In saying this they have one of the bright futures of the comp in "The Bont" to leading them after their old brigade leaves. Ill tip Russia in a small upset with experience on their side.

Unlucky mate. We had a few like that in our AXV Prelim. Terrible timing when it happens.

Better team won anyway. Good luck next week!

Unless of course Daniel can outscore Bont by double his score +12 :P

RESULTS!

Hungarian Hulks 155 defeat the Serbian Eagles 149

In our first match between the Hulks and Serbia it was the non-stars which decided the result rather than the big name players. In this instance, Serbia had players like Lever, Polec, Griffin, Weller, Douglas and Weller to put in sub 70 performances, ultimately costing them the game and continue their finals curse. They were far from posting a low score, but the all round effort of the Hulks lifted them to their first Grand Final appearance! Big turn around for the team under coach Holz, but will it continue?

Greek Titans 144 defeated by Russian Roulettes 157

Titans put up a solid fight and posted a good score, but were run over by the Russians who seem to have stepped up their game this finals series after the initial loss! If this wasn't the finals, the Titans would have been happy with this score and only 2 players sub 70! They even had the same amount of centurions as Russia, however it was the 4 120+ scores from the Russia stalwarts Burgoyne, Motlop, Montagna and Griffen that lifted them to a level above. Titans walk away from this season with their heads held up high knowing they have a list that can just get better from here.

Congratulations to Serbia and Greece for making it so far, solid year from you guys but now this leaves for the Grand Final this week to be....
