AFL open to abolishing rookie list

Thoughts? I'm not sure. If some rookies are really impressing and you don't have any LTIs to promote them, seems a bit unfair on the rookie. But there are some good things about it as well, as mentioned in the article.

Yes not sure has pros and cons. Would save some clubs de-listing and picking up as a rookie But conversely would allow clubs to retain players more and that is not good for the competition.
Really something to think about though

I don't see why it's bad that clubs can retain players more though? If a player wants to stay, they can just tell other clubs not to draft them anyway. And if they want to go, they can just not agree to a new contract, and request a trade (or go into the rookie draft).
