Late Change:

Kieran Lovell to debut for the Cockerels as a substitute (subject to him replacing Sam Mitchell tonight)

Josh Jenkins omitted
Please hold off with the teasing for this decision... Flowering hell, I knew Jenkins was going to destroy the small bulldogs defence  :-[

Jukes have i been getting OOP points for Bell naming him as a mid the whole season? i thought he was m/f

why didn't anyone tell me or accuse me of tanking lol
If you tanked the only winner would be Pope  :P

haha yeah i get the joke

that's what is annoying me most about all the injuries i have on top of the banned players i wont get an early pick

but think i'm better off with Rosa for next year anyway as we will be hard to beat

if i can stay in or close to the top 6 H Bennell will be back in a few weeks and hopefully but unlikely have D Swallow back by finals
Just keep "tanking" KB ::)
why u rolling your eyes at me
No not rolling my eyes, just a bit of tongue and cheek  :P

Colorado Avalanche 17.11.113 lost to Houston Bombers 17.12.114
(Real: 1699 vs 1716)

Heartbreaking home lose for the Avalanche as Houston jump them into the six! Captain Scott Thompson failing was the biggest nail in the Avalanche coffin, his 51 being the team's lowest score. Motlop and Heeney were very good for the bombers.

Best
Colorado: Curnow, Bartel, Bugg, Ebert, Scully
Houston: Motlop, Heeney, Beams

Quito Quetzals 17.10.112 lost to Ottawa Otters 18.11.119
(Real: 1683 vs 1784)

Ottawa continue their good form with a good win down in Ecuador, going to 4-3 and on the verge of finals. Captain Gibbs was great for the Quetzals but they just had too many passengers, with the Otters pretty solid across the board.

Best
Quito: Gibbs, Simpson, Lynch, Reid
Ottawa: Jones, Zaharakis, Shiels, Cunnington, Naitanui

Las Vegas Sinners 16.14.111 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 15.12.102
(Real: 1666 vs 1534)

The Ducks' missing cast are really starting to hurt now, as they fall to a new low - being defeated by bottom-placed Vegas. Their usual stars - Dangerfield, Hannebery, and Merrett - starred, but around them was just too much mediocrity, or further injuries - Matt Rosa's 8 hurt, as did Simpkin's 28. The ducks will probably fall out of the 8 after this one, while the Sinners go to 2-5.

Best
Las Vegas: Franklin, Westhoff, Sheppard, Lewis
Anaheim: Dangerfield, Hannebery, Merrett

Santiago Cockerels 15.15.105 lost to New Brooklyn Hawks 15.16.106
(Real: 1593 vs 1596)

Another one-point ball game, with only the three SC points seperating the sides! The Hawks recover from their three-game losing skid to go to 4-3, joining the Cockerels, among many other teams, with that current record. Max Gawn really carried the team on his shoulders, and would've won them the game had he been given more responsibility - the captaincy duo being Ablett (82 - LOL) and Zorko (111). Speaking of captains, NBH's duo of Sidebottom and Cripps, scoring 116 and 132, were very good - they just need more help.

Best
Santiago: Gawn, Zorko
New Brooklyn: Cripps, Sidebottom, Gunston, Liberatore

Carolina Panthers 19.10.124 defeated Chicago Sharks 16.12.108
(Real: 1866 vs 1621)

When the Panthers are on song, they sing a mighty good song - they thump second-placed Chicago and, like many other teams, get to 4-3. Bontempelli starred with 140, while they still have room for improvement with 4 scores under 60. Could a premiership tilt be in the works? Meanwhile, Selwood starred as usual for Chicago, but they weren't too close to a win.

Best
Carolina: Bontempelli, Boyd, Docherty, Kennedy, Martin, Mumford, Kelly
Chicago: Selwood, Stringer, Lynch, Gibson

San Francisco Grizzlies 18.10.118 defeated Boston Terriers 18.9.117
(Real: 1777 vs 1751)

Unbelievable - another one pointer! Last season's grand finallists sure lived up to expectations, although the total score should have been higher, as both teams were plagued by many poor scores (51, 52, 57, 60 and 49 by the sub for SF compared to 41, 48, 48, 54, and 55 for Boston). The best says it all for the star power factor - 8 for SF, 7 for Boston. Best on ground? Pendlebury's 143 may indicate it (he was also best on ground in the grand final), or was it Kade Kolodjashnij's 51 as the sub? San Fran win their third straight to go to 3-4, while Boston drop their second game but remain a game clear thanks to Chicago and Santiago's losses. Jukes happy :3

Best
San Francisco: Montagna, Martin, Coniglio, Pittard, Guthrie, Shaw, Wines, Swallow
Boston: Pendlebury, Riewoldt, Neale, Dahlhaus, Howe, Goldstein, Kelly

like seriously can i forfeit the season?

missing players now after round 7

Heppell, Hurley, Hibberd, H Bennell, D Swallow, Swan, D Smith, M Stokes, Rosa, Simpkin, Vandenberg, Colyer, Turner

and Nicholls dropped for a mystery reason after one of his best games

Disgusting performance  >:(

This is genuinely the first time I've been ashamed of my side...

Gawn was incredible as always, Zorko has been a fine player. I cannot blame Ablett because carrying the Gold Coast has been wearing him down (I've been watching all their games and they're reliance on him is getting ridiculous).

I was originally worried that the ancillary players were not performing, however the core players are starting to fall as well. Young players will always be inconsistent so I cannot complain about Whitfield and Billings.

My one regret is that I withdrew Jenkins  :'( - it literally cost us the match

you're not even out of the contest mate hahahaha

you're just as much a finals chance as we are at this point from my point of view

The only side that looks to be a guaranteed finals side is Boston at this point - every other side has been reliant on good form

kilbluff1985

just annoying i get like 2 injuries every week

Never give up kb, you're still in finals contention at 3-4!

Also for an oddity - Colorado has been involved in 4 of the last 8 one-point wins (4 of the last 6 if I'd said this after I scored their game), with the 1 win and 3 losses. This is their second one-point loss of the season, to go on top of their elimination final heartbreak last season. Tough!

Ladder up soon.

Unconvincing wins seems to be the way for Houston!

Few quick things because I'm bored - average total points per team so far this season is 798, meaning 114 per week. That's a pretty good benchmark atm for yearly and weekly performance. If we ordered the ladder by points scored it would look (with ladder position in brackets):
1. Boston 860 (1st)
2. Santiago 841 (2nd)
3. San Francisco 833 (8th)
4. Chicago 823 (3rd)
5. Ottawa 813 (6th)
6. Anaheim 802 (9th)
7. Carolina 799 (4th)
8. Colorado 793 (10th)
9. Houston 790 (5th)
10. Quito 784 (11th)
11. New Brooklyn 767 (7th)
12. Las Vegas 652 (12th)
Biggest difference of points over positioning would be SF, who are 8th but score 3rd, while vice versa Houston (are 5th, score 9th) and New Brooklyn (are 7th, score 11th) lead the pack.

And additionally, since I did all the scores it's easy to do a TOTW:
D: K. Simpson (Quito), M. Boyd (Carolina), S. Docherty (Carolina), J. Pittard (San Francisco)
M: B. Gibbs (Quito) (c), J. Selwood (Chicago) (vc), S. Pendlebury (Boston) (evc), M. Bontempelli (Carolina), P. Cripps (New Brooklyn), D. Zaharakis (Ottawa)
R: M. Gawn (Santiago)
F: S. Motlop (Houston), N. Riewoldt (Boston), L. Montagna (San Francisco), T.J. Lynch (Quito)
U: N. Jones (Ottawa), I. Heeney (Houston), E. Curnow (Colorado)
Sub: B. Reid (Quito)
Coach: nas (Carolina)
Stadium: Tie - Colorado and San Francisco (51 point HGA each)

Note: Utilities can only be players who were named on the utility line, c/vc/evc can only be players who were given that role by their coach.
