Chicago Sharks 19.10.124 defeated Quito Quetzals 16.10.106
(Real: 1862 vs 1595)

Chicago were definitely on in front of their home crowd. Quito were not, in what turned out to be a comfortable victory. Joel Selwood proved his doubters (i.e. the coach for not making him captain) with a 142, while Harvey kicked 6 and Parker was good as captain. Vice-captain Goddard was good for the Quetzals, but an early injury to star ruckman Aaron Sandilands, plus poor showings by Vlastuin and Garner, put to rest their chances of a win up north.

Best
Chicago: Selwood, Harvey, Parker, Burgoyne, Rischitelli
Quito: Goddard, Langdon, Lynch, Barlow, Roughead, Mitchell

New Brooklyn Hawks 17.9.111 Houston Bombers 17.8.110
(Real: 1668 vs 1657)

Heartbreak for the Bombers as they go down in the Big Apple by the narrowest of margins! Taylor Duryea's 43 points of home ground advantage got the Hawks across the line, despite the team having 3 less players named in the best. Walters' 39 let the Bombers down, while the hawks almost failed with a lacklustre forward line (scores of 51, 52, 57, and 69). Houli certainly the best on ground with a superb 144 as EVC.

Best
New Brooklyn: Houli, Oxley, Newnes, Blicavs
Houston: Ellis, Rance, Motlop, Adams, Darling, Vince, Hill

Anaheim Mighty Ducks 20.6.126 defeated Ottawa Otters 17.8.110
(Real: 1885 vs 1646)

Patrick Dangerfield. Enough said.

Best
Anaheim: Dangerfield, Hannebery, Enright, Daniel, B. Smith, Merrett
Ottawa: Hanley, Broadbent, Hogan, Naitanui, Zaharakis, Treloar, Adams

Colorado Avalanche 17.7.109 lost to Carolina Panthers 17.8.110
(Real: 1632 vs 1654)

Colorado hosted an absolute nail-biter but the home fans left disappointed as the Panthers managed to just outplay their opponents for the narrowest of victories. Colorado were arguably the favourites going in and will rue this as the one that got away while Carolina will thank their lucky stars.

Best
Colorado: Bartel, Hall, Curnow
Carolina: Docherty, Ward, Shiel, Mumford

San Francisco Grizzlies 19.9.123 lost to Santiago Cockerels 20.11.131
(Real: 1849 vs 1964)

San Francisco just can't buy a win right now as Santiago showed some real strength to stun the home team. For San Fran, they slump to 0-3 to start the season despite some good performances across the board. Meanwhile, Santiago had 9 of their 15 players named in the best which just shows how good they were.

Best
San Francisco: Shaw, Kolodjashnij, Steven, Montagna, Betts
Santiago: Ablett, Duncan, Shuey, Whitfield, Gawn, Waite, Kennedy, Zorko, Billings

Boston Terriers 21.8.134 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 14.17.101
(Real: 2012 vs 1522)

No coach? No worries! Boston go bang on autopilot! In a strange turn of events, the Boston team went ahead this week without their coach. Rumours are flying as to what happened to coach elephants this weekend, but it doesn't matter when his team can produce this without anyone giving orders from the box. For Las Vegas, they're left to lick their wounds and hope that they're not on the receiving end of another savage beating like this one.

Best
Boston: Hurn, Pendlebury, Priddis, Neale, Cotchin, Gray, Goldstein, Dahlhaus
Las Vegas: Fyfe, Ziebell, Mitchell, Franklin

My bad, I did the scores and then realised that I hadn't doubled Dusty's score as captain which changed the result. Failed to proofread the scoreline.
