just sitting here having a look at the numbers that will be available over the next few years due to retirements/delisted/whatever

Retire:
Montagna > 11 Sinclair
Riewoldt > 12 McCartin
Schneider > 13 Lonie
Gilbert > 19 McKenzie
Ray > 22 - ?
Dempster > 24 - ?
Fisher > 25 Goddard

Siposs #2 will probably be up for grabs - maybe for whoever we draft this year?

I dunno, just playing around :P who do you think will get those numbers?

Here are some random predictions of mine:

Jack Sinclair --> #2

Jack Lonie --> #13

#23 could potentially go to McCartin?

I reckon Lonie in 13 makes too much sense! hopefully he gets it. reckon he will

I like Sinclair in 2. I remember watching his under 18 video and he was wearing #2 (I think anyway)

Freeman to 10. think I remember reading he wore #10 in his junior days as well. reckon it'd suit him

23 is tricky. kinda want Paddy to get it, but I also kinda want him to take over #12 when the great man retires. if not Paddy, Carlisle is the man (if we get him, not as confident now)

31 to Rice

want Goddard to get 25 once Fish retires

so in case my rambling didn't make sense:

#2 Sinclair
#10 Freeman
#13 Lonie
#22 Carlisle
#23 Paddy
#31 Gresham
#32 White
#37 Rice

edit - Carlisle 22, Paddy 23

double edit - Gresham 31, White 32, Rice 37

I like the tradition of pick 1s not changing their numbers. Paddy with 32 suits well.

Gresham to get 11 once Tags retires!

although I don't see Leigh retiring for at least a couple years, so he might get another number. be awesome to see him in 11 though

Yeah, 20-30's look good on tall forwards (I don't like when tall forwards wear single digit numbers - more of a midfielder thing and subconsciously makes you think that they don't kick many goals  :P )

I swear we were the last team to announce the new jumper numbers... 10 days to Christmas and my nephew wants the Saints jumper with Carlisle's new number on it... haha

don't get why it's taking so long. I reckon a few people are in the same boat as your nephew, you woulda thought they'd release it by now

He changed to the Saints because Carlisle went there (Ex Essendon Supporter, only 5 years old. What a champion move) . And the next player he likes best at the Saints is Billings. So I might have to get him that if I can't get Carlisle by Xmas.
