Its gameday, that time when nerves start bubbling to the surface, the itchy trigger finger rears its ugly head and all planning goes out the window. Add in that H2h matches are about to begin and you have a combination similar to that of Sinbad not having any spinach.
This past week has shown that injuries are going to be as prevalent as previous years, maybe even more so with the reduced interchange cap. Why the SC gods keep doing this to us is anyone’s guess? 

With H2H matches starting this week we will begin to sort the men from the boys, the predators from the prey, rivalries will be forged and friendships will be broken.



Round 2 saw a complete change in the fortunes of almost all teams. Mountalizians FC being the only team that has managed to be in the top 10 for both rounds with a 9th and 4th place finish, however his inability to pull in  the big points means he is still only sitting in 7th spot overall in the BnF. We now have dual leaders with Cunning Coyotes and Bored Saints both with 25 points, there is a plethora of teams behind wanting to take the coveted number one spot off them this week.

In overall points Bored Saints put to together a massive week to skyrocket from 17th to 1st and take the lead by a measly 4 points. In total only 150 points separate the top 10 teams so there is everything still to play for. At the bottom end of the ladder we have 3 teams struggling Beef Tannan FC, Ringos Rocky Road and $Blues already 400 points off the leaders pace and a 60 point deficit to 33rd spot

Agree It is a marathon not a sprint you can make up 1/200 pints in a week. So hoping to rise up the ladder over the next few weeks.  Great work to LS.

How fast does the weekend comes around. It only felt like yesterday when we were celebrating or lamenting our teams performance. The real stuff has now started and if your team is underperforming it is time to make move to get back into the game. Many of the popular players performed well last week including many rookies this resulted in a lot of strong scores between the 2300-2400 mark. Will we see this again this week.

H2H saw the beginning of competition points being handed out. Somewhat surprisingly Division 2 is performing a lot stronger than Division 1 at current.

Division 1
Mountalizians FC started the year well with a fortunate win over a very poor Frogjumper. Terrifying Glue smashed out a big win over Dos Destroyers. X won a humdinger of a match with Bombers Rule by 23 points. Stubbsy’s Heroes started on the right foot with a 30 point win in a low scoring affair. SCHILLACI won his first ever Div 1 match over WingardiumLobbeosa. Tailspower had a percentage boosting win over bics best. $Blues got off on the right foot with a 200 point win over Tiger of Old. Spinach took the bragging rights in a matchup between 2 of big players from last year. Ardy FC took the cake and points over Cunning Coyotes in a battle between 2 of the newbies to the league.

Divison 2
Beef Tannen FC ate well on Monday after taking the points over Pumped Up Cripps. McBasketball went huge to down a valiant Flying Fids. Tigertuff showed some toughness to sneak a 16 point win over Raging Marshmellow. Fantasy Addicts 2443 was too big for Jive Turkeys to keep up with. Bored Saints continued his good form to get a 29 point win over BlueBaggers in a matchup that combined for over 4800 points !!! Bull Dust isn’t seeing red just yet with a strong win over Richos has beens. Brainpharts had a big win over the previously relegated Engineticians. Ringos Rocky Road stole a win over Sacre Bleu! by 3 points in the closest match of the week. Finally The Hulkamaniacs went large to shutdown MC’s Mix.

The leaderboards are starting to take shape with a few teams getting on the board for a second week. McBasketball took the plaudits and 25 points with a massive score of 2474, a score good enough for 772nd for the week. Fantasy Addicts took 2nd place and has jumped into the top 10. 3rd place went to Bored Saints who has put a gap of 8 points between himself and the chasing pack.

In overall points Bored Saints held the top spot for another week whilst also extending the gap to 25 points to 2nd. There is only 200 points separating 1st from 10th which is still small enough that one good week can result in big swings in the overall points leaderboards. In a show of the strength of the comps Div 2 currently holds 7 of the top 10 overall points positions.

The wheels are turning but the screws are coming loose for many teams. One week we are scoring 2300’s and the following down around the 2k mark. Premiums going sub 100, rookies going sub 40, injuries galore and the worst of all, a fridge empty of beer by Saturday morning. It’s now time to start downgrading and upgrading your team. Culling players who have maxed in price, been dropped or just plain old underperforming and then bringing in those guns you missed.

The second round of H2H has been and gone and there were some humdingers of matches amongst them.

Division 1
In the match of the round Corkascrew took the points over Ardy FC 2150 vs 2084 in a matchup that was worthy of the billing of MOTR. In other results $Blues smashed a poor Cunning Coyotes to go 2-0 and leave the Coyotes at 0-2. Spinach also took the points with a win over bics best. SCHILLACI extended his run of form with a win over Tiger Of Old. Tailspower won a low scoring affair over FC HAWKSTONE. Bombers rule managed to sneak a win by the barest of margins (1 Point) over WingardiumLobbeosa. Stubbsy’s Heroes moved to 8 points with a win over Dos Destoryers. X was too strong for a still winless Frogjumper. Mountalizians FC managed to take a 4 point win over a very unlucky Terrifying Glue.

Divison 2
In the match of the round BlueBaggers took the Cheese over Raging Marshmellow in a very high scoring affair 2166 vs 2146. MC’s Mix put the beatdown on Engineticians. Bull Dust heaped more misery on Sacre Bleu, Bored Saints is not all that bored after accounting for Brainpharts. Jive Turkeys had a percentage boosting win over Richos has beens. Fantasy Addicts defested a low scoring Flying Fids. Pumped up Cripps bounced back from a R1 defeat to account for Tigertuff and Mcbasketball had a very easy win over Beef Tannan FC.

Jive Turkeys took out the weekly number 1 spot for the first time with a strong 2186. Blue Baggers, Mc Basketball and $Blues have all made the top 10 for consecutive weeks and re showing good early season form. 
The closeness of the comp overall is shown with 25 different players already on the board with points. Bored Saints still leads the way after what was a rather poor week by his own standards. McBasketball and Jive Turkeys are right on his heels ready to pounce in the coming weeks and take the number 1 spot.

In overall points Bored Saints extended his lead once again, now up to 61 points. However the chasing pack hasn’t really fallen any further behind with all the carnage of last week. Big swings are part and parcel of the game and will this be the week it happens.

All good. It takes me about 45 minutes to do each week. I enjoy the writing as I find it gets me thinking of what analogies I can use etc.

Another week of injuries and ultimately average scores. It is appearing more and more like this year will be very dependent on avoiding injuries and having solid enough cover for those annoying 1-2 week injuries and suspensions. The injuries this year have resulted in big splits between the top and bottom teams, not even a freekick to Hawthorn could cover the deficit. We are now moving into the upgrade and downgrade period, this is where those who made some bad choices early can redeem themselves and come back into contention.
3 rounds of head to head matches have been completed and the ladders are starting to take shape. Will those undefeated stay that way or will some upsets be on the cards.

Division 1
In the match of the round Mountalizians continued his roaring good form to inflict a loss on X. Stubbsy’s Heroes smashed a poor Terrifying Glue to get a percentage boosting win. Likewise WingardiumLobbeosa levitated his way over a yet to jump Frogjumper. Tailspower powered by Dos’ Destroyers. Tiger of old won a low scoing match over ombers rule. Spinach got the win over last years rival FC HAWKSTONE. SCHILLACI snuck a win over Cunning Coyotes by only 8 points. Ardy FC stays undefeated after accounting for bics best and Corkascrew dismissed the odds to take the money and points over $Blues.

Divison 2
In the match of the round Mcbasketball is proving to be a tough to beat team with a solid win over Fantasy Addicts. Tigertuff heaped more pressure on Beef Tannen FC with a strong 101 point win. Bluebaggers accounted for PumpedUpCripps who is more like a SemiDeflatedCripps sitting at 1-2 currently. Flying Fids destroyed Richos has beens.  A high scoring Raging Marshmellow beat a very unlucky Brainpharts who himself was top 5 for the week. Jive Turkeys got another win on the board after knocking off Sacre Bleu!. Bored Saints is sitting pretty wth another win this time over MC’s Mix. Bull Dust knocked out the Hulkamaniacs and Engineticians bounced back from last weeks loss to take down Ringo’s Rocky Road.

Ardy FC took the 25 points for this week putting himself into the frame as a serious contender. Stubbsy’s Heroes managed to get the second place points and push himself into the top 10. Rounding out the to 3 was Raging Marshmellow after another solid showing.
We are starting to see the break between the top 5 and the rest in the FF Medal. There is now 11 points separating 1st and 6th. Bored Saints held his lead for another week with none of his immediate rivals scoring enough to knock him off.
In overall points we have a new leader with Raging Marshmellow taking over from Bored Saints by 6 points. Ardy FC is sitting in third a further 68 ponts back. Following that there is a log jam of teams within 250 points.

Supercoach is like a boat on the open ocean, one minute still sailing smmothly into the distance, the next 20ft waves battering it from all side. Hidden dangers lurking just beneath the surface ready to pounce on those unfortunate enough to fall make an error of judgement. Injuries to Laird, Weitering and Cotchin, restings to Parish, Davis, Tucker, clouds over Pendles, Ablett and Delidio combined with rookies that have some inflated breakevens and are ripe for the picking have thrown some of the best laid plans into chaos. Will the waves subside anytime soon, or are we in for a continued bumpy ride to our destination of Supercoach glory.

Division 1
In the match of the round Cunning Coyotes bounced back into the winners circle with a comfortable win over bombers rule leaving the former harging up the table while the latter is on the wrong end of a losing streak. Bics Best went large to win a humdinger of a match over the unlucky $Blues. Corkascrew smashed a poor SCHILLACI team. FC HAWKSTONE took the points over highflier Ardy FC. Dos’ Destroyer got his first win taking the points from Spinach. Tiger of Old had a very easy and percentage boosting win over the winless Frogjumper. Tailspower was too strong for Terrifying Glue. WingardiumLobbeosa snuck past the post with an 18 point win over X. Mountalizians went very large 2267 to keep his undefeated run going.

Divison 2
In the match of the round and what a match of the round it was Bull Dust managed to take the points over Engineticians with a finger nail biting 1 point win. Bored Saints similarily took the points over Ringo’s Rocky Road in a tight match this time by 16 points. Jive Turkeys performed well to down The Hulkamaniacs. Raging Marshmellow continued rrolling along the road with a win over MC’s Mix. Flying Fids flew to a win over Sacre Bleu!. PumpedUpCripps got back in the winners circle with a win over Brainpharts. McBasketball had no problem in dispatching Richos has beens. Bluebaggers won a close encounter with Tigertuff by 27 points. Fantasy Addicts is on the road to recovery after getting the win over Beef Tannan FC.

So how to describe what has transpired in recent days. Carnage? Freakishness? Justice? Nah Carnage works. Its CARNAGE week boys!!!. Enjoy.
Surviving this week is going to be all about hoping your rookies pull out some respectable scores otherwise those who have avoided the carnage many of us have been hit with could gain some big points on others. The other question is do you trade the premium who is missing or keep your structure and trade out those mooing cows.

H2H is continuing at a breakneck pace with some pretty big splits starting to occur between the top and the bottom. Those pulling up the rear will need to lift their game otherwise the risk of a relegation fight could be coming their way nearer the end of the year.

Division 1
In the match of the round FC HAWKSTONE went 2143 to score an important win (his second) over $Blues 2080. In other matches Mountalizians FC won an epic over WingardiumLobbeosa by 24 points. Tailspower keep his unbeaten season alive with a 32 point win over Stubby’s Heroes. X smashed a hapless Tiger of Old. Spinach bounced back from the heartbreaking loss last week to take the points over terrifying Glue. Cunning Coyote had an easy win over the winless Frogjumper. Ardy FC continues to roll along notching a win over Dos Destroyers. bombers rule went big to comfortably dispatch Corkascrew. SHILLACI went even bigger to beat bic best who had the 4th highest score in Div 1 for the week.

Divison 2
In the match of the round. Raging Marshmellow continued on his merry way with a 32 point win over the very competitive Ringos Rocky Road. In other matches BlueBaggers knocked Beef Tannan FC down a peg. Fantasy Addicts had a percentage boosting 266 point win over Richos has beens. Brainpharts managed a 2205 to easy beat Tigertuff. Mcbasketball had no trouble in getting the points over Sacre Bleu!. PumpedUpCripps had a good match against MCs Mix but ultimately managed to hit the knockout blow. The hulkamanics put the beatdown on the Flying Fids. Jive Turkeys smashed Engineticians by a huge 302 points. Finally BoreD Saints hacked the system to get a 2361 and steal a win over the mightily unlucky Bull Dust who himself scored a 2220.

For the first time this year we have had 2 teams finish with an identical score. Jive Turkeys and SCHILLACI both turned in a score of 2291 good enough for equal second. Leading the way though was Bored Saints who put up a huge 2361 to take the 25 points and put a 13.5 point gap into the aforementioned Jive Turkeys. Sitting in third is Ardy FC 26 points back and heading a logjam of teams.

In overall points everything has tightened well and truly up with only 415 points separating the top 10 teams. Bored Saints took over the lead after his massive score this week. The Hulkamaniacs is the only team to enter the top 10 from last week replacing Corkascrew in a few close chasing pack that is ultimately going to be changing on a weekly basis.
