2015 AUCTION

Rules:
  • Each team will have $4,000,000 to spend on as many players as they feel will be needed to achieve glory. To acquire the services of a player a series of silent auctions will take place.
  • During these silent auctions, each team can bid on up to 5 players
  • At the end of the bidding period (usually 2/3 days long), every player with a bid on them will be posted with a price range of what the leading bid is. (E.g. Joe Burns: $400,000 - $500,000) Note that the team with the leading bid will be kept private.
  • In the next round, if no one outbids the leading bidder, then that team will get their player. If someone does outbid the leader, then the process continues.
  • Teams can bid any multiple of $1,000 for a player, and must equal or beat the minimum bid option with their bid to have a chance of getting a player. Those with a min bid of $0 can be bid on for nothing and acquired for free.

So we don't know what the actual leading bid is? We just know it's in a 400-500k area and we have to bid ABOVE 500k?

No, you can bid within that range, if you want, just no guarantees it will be high enough. If you bid above the range, then you are definitely higher than the leading bid.

PowerBug

Ok, I now declare the first round of bidding OPEN!

You may bid on up to 5 players in one shot, you may change you bids as many times as you feel. PM everything to me, incase you forgot how to bid that is how you do it. :P

The deadline for this round, which will be called Round 0 as no one can purchase a player this round, will be 10:00pm AEDST, Sunday 1st February.

Happy decision making. :)

What happens if a player doesn't get any bids first round?

Technically I don't have to bid at all in the first round, I get a gauge of prices and can pick and choose my players in the second round?

If a player gets no bids in the first round then he stays where he is, for sale. If you bid on him in the 2nd round, then he'll go on the pending list at the end of it.

Technically you don't, but all you are doing is extending the draft by extra rounds.

BratPack

So we can only bid on 5 players per round?

Scrads

So we are open to bid on the open field of players? Or is there a select group at a time?

Just over 2 hours to amend/enter who you wish to bid on. There's no benefit in not bidding, all you do is limit the chances of you getting the squad you want. :)

There's probably some desperation to some/most of the 'good players' I would say.  :P
