Super solid team mate. I don't think Griffen will do very well this year. I don't think we will have 2 backline rookies playing round 1 who will score solidly, though perhaps we will. Might need to downgrade Griffen to say Freeman then try and turn one of those backline rookies into a premium/midpricer.

Jared

I'm a bit reluctantly to downgrade Griffey to a rookie I figure I can get more out of griffen than a defender of the same sort of price. How come you think griffen won't do to good this year?

well he averaged in the 90's for 3 years, then had one year of a 100+ average. It's possible that the 100+ average was a one off and he is more of a 95 average player. Though granted, he should still be improving with age. It's mostly just his awful 2014 that puts me off to be honest (i know he was injured). You could do a lot worse then Griffen, he's just not for me thats all. In that price bracket I think I would prefer Neale, should breakout and average 95 I reckon.

Jared

Fair enough. I thought last year was due to his mind set at that club. I'm hoping with a new club and less pressure he'd be up to 110+ but I guess it depends on how well he fits into their midfield. What do you think of caddy instead?

Jazzoskies

In terms of Griffen, his prominence at the Dogs might make him a target for tagging etc? His arrival probably (i say this with no knowledge whatsoever haha) has sent players like Greene further down the line for a tag. I would back Greene to score somewhat similar or even better than Grif this year. But thats just my 2 cents.

Caddy could be a breakout player for Geelong as they have stated that the younger players are required to step it up this year. His attack on the ball is constant, this year could easily be HIS year.

Edit: also didnt notice the 100k price difference between Griff and Greene, thought they would be closer haha

Jared

Ok a few more changes. Still playing around a lot.

Backs- Lumumba, Mayes, Langdon, Roberton, Goddard, Brown (Dick, Fuller)

Mids- Rocky, Ablett Pendles, Trelor, caddy, Petrecca, Rich, Van Berlo (Dumont, Vandenberg)

Rucks-  Nic Nat, Kuezer (Smith, King)

Forwards- Goddard, Deledio, Swan, lynch, J Martin, Hogan (Clark, Saad)

Solid team. Possibly a bit week in the backs. That said the backs are a bit low on options. Players averaging 60 to 80 will be the norm i think. Less for the rookies maybe. Apart from the premos of course.
Great work having ablett and rocky in your team.
Im looking at having either griffin caddy or neale in my team. Im leaning towards griffin. As i think he has the potential to go plus 20 on his current pricing average. But who knows. Thoughts?

Jared

Id go caddy. I was considering Griffen but everyone's saying he's most likely to be tagged a lot in the Giants team which may or may not be right but caddy is a lot less likely to be tagged and the cats seem to be putting a lot into him trying to make him thir next gun.

Jared

Backs- Lumumba, Langdon, Mayes, Rohan, Sinclair, Dick (Jones, Fuller)

Mids- Rockliff, Ablett, Pendlebury, Wines, A Swallow, NVB, Rich, Freeman (Dumont, Vandenberg)

Rucks- Nic Nat, Leuy (Smith, Cox)

Forwards- D. Martin, Goddard, Swan, Mitchell, J Martin, Hogan (Saad, Clark)

$73k left over.

I know the backs are a bit weak but Since there army much options down back I'd rather put the money into the mids and forward line. Hope I have the best of the cheaper players though

Kellogscrunchynut

Very tentative backline here, out of them I would ditch Langdon, Rohan and Sinclair straight away. Mayes is a good unique on the other hand and has the potential to pay off with good scores if he gets midfield time, another one in this category is Kolodjashnij.

Strong mids, only concern is if Wines can breakout into a premium this season otherwise should score a lot of points from here.

I like the pick of Nic Naitanui in the rucks since without Cox in the side anymore there is scoring potential on offer for him and Lycett, although I really don't think Zac Smith is a good pick in this situation, could trade him out for John Griffin.

Really strong forwards here, Martin has gained 5 kilos over the off season and should improve his average probably not to a level where he will be a keeper but certainly enough to get a decent price rise.

Jared

Thanks mate. I souls point out its Archie smith not Zac smith on the ruck bench. Leppa is a big fan so I wouldn't be surprised if he got a game. But it's out of him and griffin I'll see how the preseason goes.

Unless Leuey and/or Martin get injured while West is still also injured, can't really see Archie getting a game this season.

Ah ok bit of a difference since hes a bargain basement rookie.
