The newspaper said it had obtained a copy of a 'letter of offer' to Phil Scully dated November 10, 2010, that set a contract period beginning on November 1, 2011, and ending on October 31, 2017.

The position as a Melbourne-based recruiting scout offered an annual salary of $100,000, with a 5 per cent increase each year.

which means Phil Scully will be earning $140 710 dollars in the final year of his contract

This country has gone mad.

Blokes earning 120k+ in the Pilbara digging trenches with barely a highschool diploma. Another in Melbourne paid 100k+ with a nice 5 year contract just because his son could turn into a decent footballer. Whilst Uni grads can expect 60k - 80k straight out of uni and a 30k hecs debt. Or police officers and nurses hardly earning that.

Societies got some flowered up issues it needs to deal with.

Ziplock

yeah, in this day and age a country really needs to be built on the back of intellectuals, not, unfortunately, sportsmen and labourers.

I suppose priorities may need to be sorted.

I think its about the whole entertainment industry as a whole

There is just more interest there than in other areas therefore it gets more money regardless of how unfair it is :P

I agree totally, also with actors and sports people making more than doctors, scientists, nurses, teachers, police officers etc. (by many times in most of those cases)
