Don't want to be "that guy"

but Lions were robbed by the umpires.
Slaughtered yes, robbed of the win? NO!

Got to win it, Lions couldn't score! Can't blame the Ump if you can't kick a goal for 25 minutes!

Nails

The only goals Port kicked were from free kicks tbag...

Spot on TBag, well said.

Correction 3 of Ports Goals were a result of free kicks just to set the record right.  hard to score in the final quarter when the umps were not paying free kicks to brisbane for chopping the arms, in the back, htb etc to allow brisbane to get forward. Leg up to Port imo.

Well, we've heard the negative spin in this thread, so i'll give you the (mainly) positive stuff, that i saw, from the 2nd row at AAMI Stadium.

- Port played terrible, way too much handball, and shocking turnovers, and stuff that will see us get slaughtered in finals. If we bring that effort next week, Crows will take us to the cleaners. I haven't seen enough of Brisbane to know whether they were good or not, but they played alright from what i was watching.
- The two sides, how brilliant are they gonna be! Equal 3rd youngest in the comp, and i can see these two which were at the top 9 years ago, will find themselves at the top again in the coming years.
- The fk count doesn't need to be equal every match, there are times where skewed fk counts happen, and it's footy. Port have been robbed by the umps aswell this season (most notably the 38-15 against North in a 10pt loss) if you want to use that as an excuse. Most of what i saw today was fair enough, and can see why the umps paid what they did. Remember you get a better view watching on TV, as the camera is above ground level.
- The Mitchell free kick Nails, i believe i know which one you were talking about, extremely unlucky i say, he fell and the Brisbane player, who, wasn't expecting him to fall, copped Mitchell's head to his thigh. :(

Overall though, one win closer to September action, andthat is what counts at the end for Port, the players didn't look overly happy with the win, they know what the aim is. :)

Very fair assesment PB well done and agree both sides will be up there next year.

Oh yeah, one more thing. We got 22 thousand at the game today, Crows vs Geelong last week got 26 thousand. Not bad for a team which only gets 35% of the deal in SA. (Figures i've seen mentioned)

Reminded me of some of our Rivalries from the early 2000's PB great to see it continue.

Luckily for us there is a SHOWDOWN tis week :o

Also, first sunny day at Footy park in months ::)

Bring it!

PowerBug

Yes there is a Showdown this week, which is why i've been nice and supportive of the Crows over the recent weeks, as i'm not very confident :P
