Yesterday's episode had 17.30 million US viewers, a series record (former most was 16.11 for last season's first ep).
Conversely, Breaking bad only had 1 episode above 8 million (10.28) on the same network, Game of Thrones has unfortunately never hit 8 million.
Judging by the episode names of this season episode 3 is called "Four Walls and and a Roof" Im predicting Beth to make her return in that episode

Won't say any spoilers from the comics, but his name is Father Gabriel and is a pretty important/long-running character, like as a secondary character if you could call him that (not as important as Rick, Michonne etc but still in a lot of things) but still a good character with an interesting story. Has been around for 77 of the 138 current issues - I won't say where he came in or when he left, if he has indeed "left".
Will be played by Seth Gilliam, who was a main character on the Wire alongside Larry Gilliard Jr (Bob)

Hey did anyone see the advertisements of the FX showing the kill counts and stuff of Rick, Michonne, Carl and Daryl?
If you did, I reckon they got the zombie tally completely off. Even without the kills not shown on TV, they would far exceeded the 90ish for Rick. 65ish for Daryl and 50 for Michonne.

I think that's the point though. We have no idea who they are. Clearly there's a few people there that basically run the joint, and the rest who are stuck. That cop chick is an absolute cow though haha.
But yeah, my take on things is:
- They started off trying to build a place that would survive, and they would be the ones who could rebuild the earth so to speak when all this walker shower is finally over
- The Hanson guy who was in charge started making questionable decisions, got people killed, so the cop chick killed him (Dawn?)
- They now have a "give what you take" system running, basically preventing people from getting out
- That Gorman guy is (or I guess 'was' ;D)an absolute cow as well, I assume tries to (and has succeeded multiple times) rape women who come in there
- The doctor seems like a good guy, but knows that as soon as he becomes useless, he's goneskies

Midseason breaks are good, generally improves the writing and acting and usually adds a couple more huge episodes in the season (cliffhanger and resolution).

The guy I got it off goes on a TWD message board and these guys have been stalking the set. She hasn't been on any of the sets after the mid season finale and she has released a bunch of tour dates for a concert at the start of next year. She may have requested to have her character killed off to go and pursue her singing career

There were a couple of clips from the past showing what Carol has been up to but it was mainly the present.
Throughout the season Gimple did say they will play with time a fair bit.
That episode was much better after a few eps that i thought were a bit flat. The story is progressing slowly because they're trying to tell all three storylines at once, hopefully this is the lead up to something big next week! ;)

Season 1 he and his son save Rick, he keeps radioing him through season 1 since they were supposed to meet up. I can't remember which season it is, but when Rick goes searching for ammo they run into him in the houses and he has gone bat ish crazy since his son died. He has set up a whole heap of traps and stuff and he is also the guy from the first ep of the season post credits

They really extended the whole "Rick is an asshole who trusts nobody" stance from the comics, not for the better tho. Didn't think that ep really did much for the story, but at least it's one more ep towards Negan!
Hopefully the viewership went back up tho, only had 12.3 million viewers (lowest in 1 1/4 seasons), so low that it's not even double the highest ever rating GoT ep (7.2)!

Well you're wrong but never mind.
Raw is a cable program where as Fastlande is a PPV (and a mediocre one). While the cheapness of the Network may have brought in some extra viewership (even though they just had a heap of prior cancellations) it still wouldn't be enough to chew into TWD's ratings. Also Raw ratings have been poor due to the crappy product, especially for Mania season.
Also as Bane points out, it is a different demographic. Kids are the main demo for WWE now and TWD isn't exactly PG. Sunday Night Football and the NBA All-Star game would have taken a hell of a larger chunk then WWE ever would at this point in time. The drop I would suspect is more Oscar related with maybe Hollywood shuttinvg down for a night

Pretty shower finale in my opinion. Daryl and Aaron stumbling past about 15 zombies with ease... Glenn being able to defend 3-4 Walkers on top of him without any help... Complete Bullshower.
Hope these Wolves cut down the cast. Only real positive that I found in this episode is that Carol is becoming more of a badass each episode. The man was a foot taller then her and she could of just slit his throat with ease.

I don't reckon he's dead. Nicks body seems to be on top of him.... The Walkers seem to be ripping shower out of his body way too high. But if he is actually dead that is pretty flowered. The change of Nick's character was pretty shower...
With that said, looks to be atleast 2 major deaths still to happen then the Negan one in the season finale. Because if they for some stupid reason having Negan kill death fodder, i'm going to be flowering pissed off.
So I was thinking about a couple things but I will spoiler tag these. My source is the guy that posted about the Beth death like 2 weeks into the last season. They are highly likely to be legit spoilers
The guy that posts a lot of spoilers basically said it was the a jump the shark ep. This is what he said
'Yuen has been seen on set, in character filming in multiple episodes after this one, including just this past week. I sincerely doubt the notoriously cheap suits at AMC paid an actor who was no longer on the show to come in for weeks at a time to fool the audience; although, I guess it's possible. Plus he wasn't on The Talking Dead last night, or in the In Memoriam segment.'
He then posted his theory based on what was said on the Talking Dead and on the net
'There's two ways they can go with this. The first is it was a hallucination and Bobby Ewing steps out of the dumpster. The other is that Nick the D fell on top of Glenn, those were his guts being pulled out, Glenn slides under the dumpster, and Enid (based on a comment the actress made about her reappearance) comes along and distracts the walkers freeing Glenn. Either one is cheesy, and as the doode on The Talking Dead said last night it's like a tacky B movie cliff hanger, made worse by having to wait 2 or 3 weeks to see how it pans out; next week is all Morgan being transformed into Kwai Chang Cain.'
The only reason I clicked the spoiler is after the ep and watching the Talking dead this is what I basically expected as well based on his simple 'jump the shark' tagline earlier in the week

I liked it, bit of a backstory for Morgan
I was pissed off to start, but then really enjoyed the episode.
It was 90 minutes of filler that progressed the story nowhere. We got backstory on a character who has been terrible and could have been done in 15 minutes....
They should have just ended the Morgan story in season 3

The first three eps were good, after that it's just been frustrating and on a massive downward spiral.
I thought this was the best 4-5 episode start to any season, don't know what happened after that though, and an absolute shocker for a mid season finale!

Still think that random group that appeared for like 1 minute at Terminus was Negans group. There were 3 guys, one who actually looked like Negan straight out of the comic book. They appeared, spoke to the leader of Terminus then disappeared never to be seen again.
Was losing interest at the start of this season but the last few episodes since it's come back has regained my interest.
Jeffery Dean Morgan has already been announced as playing Negan so we will know when we see him. I only know him from playing John Winchester in Supernatural.

They aren't following the comics entirely so while it is supposed to lead to one character that is going to die, it could be another.

Finally catching up on the last season. 2 episodes to go, last 7 episodes (8-14) have been better than the first 7 imo. Hopefully I can watch the last 2 on the weekend, but will be a bit busy.
One thing that annoys me though, and this is why I prefer GoT, is that the main characters just seem to be invincible. It's weird, but the last few episodes I was really hoping that Carl would die, that Glenn would die, that Carol would die, that Maggie would die (no sorry ily Lauren <3), that Abraham would die, etc etc. But instead, it keeps on being minor characters that bite the dust. Then you compare that to something like GoT, which not only makes me feel more attached to a lot of characters, but also much more on edge about whether they will survive in certain scenarios or not, and TWD falls short in that area.
Still, hoping for an awesome last 2 episodes, but looking at some of the comments in this thread, maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up :P
Bump this one up with the new season starting it 2 weeks and we get to find out who gets their head bashed in. My money's still on Abraham.

Could definitely see that twist happening with the Garbage people, never felt like they could trust them but wouldn't surprise me if they switch sides again if Negan flowers them around in Season 8.

Anyone got anywhere that I can watch episode 1-5 from this season? Had problems with foxtel and have only just got it back so have missed the first few eps

Don't bother. S1 and S2 were worth watching but since then this has not been essential viewing by any means. I wish I had quit at that point.

I'm 4 episodes into season 7 and bored showerless because its so slow moving. I then saw an ad for the second part of S8 and they are still fighting Negan 20 episodes later!
So my questions is do I bother to continue watching?

Negans has been one of the biggest character arcs in the comics so it's no surprise to me.
well that was painful to sit through. the extremely slow death of someone I couldn't give 2 showers about... and in the end didn't even get to see him die, just heard the gun. hope next week is better

Andrew Lincoln has decided not to return to TWD dead for S9, basically going downhill now, a couple of the other characters are only going to be in it minimally as well due to taking on new roles, Norman Reedus getting the big pay day to continue the show. ?Not sure how this is going to go as the source material is based around Rick Grimes. FTWD has been much better recently.
So the "comic" Walking Dead ended this week, I read it last night. In the scheme of things this paved the way and opened the flood gates for more comics to be recognised and made into TV shows/Movies. The book ends with a heartfelt 4 page letter from Robert Kirkman. Will Image or Kirkman be able to come up with something that can hit the same levels as The Walking Dead which now has 4 TV shows with 2 currently running and 2 in the works, plus a series of Rick Grimes movies to come. His latest Oblivion Song has recently been optioned, but don't think it will come close to reaching the same heights as TWD. RIP. :-\
PS I know the TV shows will still go on, but the "real" TWD begins and ends with the comics.
