On top of the retirements of Gia and Tom Williams, the Dogs have delisted Christian Howard, Brett Goodes and Tom Young.
Geez. those 3 blokes all a bit stiff. Considering goodsey was part of there best 22 last year. He is old but. But howard is very stiff..

Goodes probably a tad unlucky in the sense that he was BOG in the VFL grand final 5 days ago and had a decent season for Footscray.
Howard was Pick 15 in his draft and never lived up to that.
Not sure about Young, can only assume he got the axe because the Dogs have got a number of defenders his size that play a similar role iirc.

Lol
Goodes can't kick and can not survive at AFL level
Howard is a hack
Young is a tad unlucky but no where near their best 22
Goodes is an old man.
Howard has been going backwards for 3 years and only showed good signs every now and then at the best of times. I'd be very surprised if anyone picks him up.
Young was an absolute liability on the defensive side of his game. Not ideal for a backman.
Easton Wood, Liam Jones and Shaun Higgins all unsigned at the moment.
Greenwood, Austin and Redpath have all spent the maximum 3 years on the rookie list so their time is up. Either delist or upgrade to the senior list.

I can't see Greenwood getting elevated, but Austin and/or Redpath would have to be a chance?
Greenwood has to be cut. The other two could go either way. Personally I would keep Austin but give Redpath the chop.
I had high hopes Young would step up but it just didn't happen. Still reckon it's worth his while nominating for the draft.
Howard on the other hand...
Easton Wood has signed a one year contract extension.
All done and dusted. List changes:
OUT | IN |
Griffen | Tom Boyd |
Cooney | Shane Biggs |
Giansiracusa | #26 |
Higgins | #27 |
Williams | #39 |
Goodes | #45 |
Jones | #46 |
Howard | #64 (F/S Zaine Cordy) |
Tutt | #82 |
Young | #100 (will be used to upgrade Lin Jong) |

Macrae.
inb4 Tom Boyd :P
I wonder whether they'd give it to like Boyd or Bob for a year or two or something like that...
Morris maybe?
He's another option, still on the older side.
Would like to hear meow's thoughts.
Bob is the best option imo give the kids another year then pick one
You might as well make it Boyd... all your eggs and such stuff!! :P
Bob and Libba co-captains, Libba full captains when Bob goes.

I was thinking this but Macrae instead of Libba, much better leader than Libba will ever be.
Surely its too early for Macrae. 3rd year and Captain? How much pressure do you want the kid to be under?
Give it to Murphy (he deserves it) for a year and then see who is ready

Maybe not better than he'll ever be, slight exaggeration, but he's a better leader than Libba.

Anything can happen, when Waters came to the Eagles he was a little shower haha. This season he won the Jim Stynes award for raising over 1 million bucks for Cancer Research. Matured massively and honestly would be our captain now if his body would stay together.
I don't think Libba is much chance of ever being captain.
Murphy and Macrae as co-captains could work and would be the choice I'd go with.
Minson is an option. Mitch Wallis would be a fine leader if he was given the nod. Crameri as a smokey.
Yeah can't see Libba being captain.
I reckon Bob will get it for a couple of years.
I was thinking Minson might be a chance... But agree Libba has very little chance of ever being skipper imo
Poor Libba, prove em wrong son! :P
Ever heard Libba speak? He's not much of a talker.
At the B&F when they interviewed Macrae and said to him "you must be proud to have come 2nd in the B&F in just your second year" the first thing he said was "It isn't first".
He's going to struggle next year since the tag is coming for him every single week now that Griffen and Cooney are no more. He'll need to deal with that first, before he can deal with captaincy but it looks like it's just a matter of time.

What a champ, he's got ambition.

Yeah that's why I wouldn't give him the captaincy, you don't want another Trengove.
I reckon Macrae might get tags over Libba
